Thanks, I think I will try to get it going with the IGPU first, and if that works I will get a new video card. I will also get a new SSD so I can go back to Catalina.......
OK, when I looked at the recommended video cards, they were $300+++. I don't mind spending some money, but I certainly do not need a top-of-the-line card.
I also have the same MB and CPU. GA-Z97X-UD5H-BK | i7-4770K however, I have an NVIDIA GeForce GT 740. I am not a gamer and this video card works fine for me. I am on 10.15.7 and would like to upgrade to macOS 12.4.
What would be the cheapest AMD card I could buy to upgrade to 12.4?
Got to the install screen. I used -v -x maxmem=4096 even though I have 16GB. You know what they say, the 37th times a charm.
I can get back into the OS to run MultiBeast but after a re-boot I get KP's no matter what combination of flags I use.
I cannot get the system to boot up. I followed Stork's guide but still no luck. (Early Adopters > Mavericks on a Gigabyte H/Z97N-WIFI using HD4600 - No Graphics Card Needed!)
I get kernal panics every time. I have tried no flags, -v, -x, -f, maxmem=8192 and about every combination of these...
