Re: Install Guide/Discussion Thread for HP Probook 4530s V2!
@blueking
I have followed and studied your Work & Guide since you started...It motivated me to purchase a HP Pro Book 4530s (i3).
The LION installation works 100% for me but I have a huge "PROBLEM!" Half of my applications are not...
I don't know if the eSATA ports work yet I'm still stuck installing the 10.6.8 update. iBoot + Retail disk installs flawlessly but when I update to 10.6.8 I get a Kernel Panic and i have to start over again. :banghead:
I used the update helper and i still get a KP!
I just finished up putting the hardware together. I'm stuck on how to hook up the headers for the fan control for the 600T case.
It's time to install Windows and Lion! :D
Second build is in progress today based on the recommended builds posted by Tony Mac & the Crew. I ordered my parts yesterday and received everything this am. Here is my part list in the build.

If I understand the process properly I would install OSX to this drive:

And then install all my programs to this drive:

And a third drive for recording...
Thanks for replying.
Can you take a peek @ my previous post please because I would like to start ordering my parts today. I didn't change much but the case, motherboard and hard drive.
Also, can you tell me why you chose the Gigabyte 6870?
Will the XFX 6870 cards work OOB also?
Hey Tony my biggest question is "Why did you suggest the Seagate hard drive? In the Mac Pro build I went with the Samsung Spinpoint F3 as Mac Man laid out in his guide. I was under the impression that this drive is the fastest and most reliable 7200 RPM drive on the market plus it's on sale...
Hey Tony! Please help with my "New Build." I want to make the following changes to the recommended build. I have the i7 2600k already, I've been undecided on the rest of the parts and I haven't ran across a thread on the forum of a GA-Z68 UD7 system.
Case: I want to go with the rackmount but...
I'm stacking up the main components for my new build. I have a I7 2600k on the shelf and I just ordered my MOBO: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6813128492
Tony suggested this in a previous topic for those who desire USB 3.0
The Sager laptop you have comes standard with an 8X DVD±R/RW/4X +DL Super-Multi Drive & Software. This is not making good sense to me. Are u absolutely sure u don't have a DVD drive? :shock:
In my opinion you should try installing SL alone before attempting a Dual Boot system for the sake of simplicity since you are new to this "Blood, Sweat, Tears, PAIN and Sleepless 3 day nights" mission.
Download System Info app. You can Google it, it's "FREE." It comes in Win & Mac flavors...
I configured a dual boot system... The Snow Leopard process is not working for me I keep getting a Kernel Panic when I boot from the Chameleon prompt. Windows 7 boots just fine and Snow Leopard only boots with iBoot. I have been up for days with no sleep, no bath, no food, only coffee &...
@Justruss
I finished the build. I have the DVD+R on SATA 0, and now installing Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit. Once that is done I disconnect the Windows drive and plug the SL drive into SATA 1 and install with iBoot & Multibeast. I'll let you know how it works out.
Hey People just arrive in New York City to build this system for the Recording Studio. So far I installed the CPU and Mugen 2. This big ass cooler was quite difficult to mount yet I successfully succeeded. I am going to install 4GB of the 12GB that I have on hand. After I install Windows & Snow...
