I think this is good to see peoples builds and what they did, but seriously seeing someone un-box a motherboard does not get me excited at all. Last thing we want is 100's of videos with people just "unboxing" a motherboard, maybe we need a classification system for different types of videos.

To build or not to build

Hi, with Unibeast booted fine just set-up the BIOS correctly first as per instructions. I used SSD and got 20s boot time, Mavericks a bit slower than ML that took only 5 sec. My build used a GT640 Graphics card. I suggest if you can use the on board DVI port first and get it going then...

Mountain Lion 10.8.2 on Dell XPS 13.3

Hi, I have seen this on my Dell, did you get this message "Operation System Not Found"....not a typo its "Operation" not "Operating". If so then Rehabman is right and you need to do it his way.

You'll need to be careful on the selection of board/CPU product as SL won't run on the Haswell range out of the box. I would not want to guarantee what SL can run on except I know my GA-P55M-UD2 with an i5 let me boot SL on the disk and install. Would you have a friend that has a Mac you can...

Hi components look fine, I would recommend i5 Haswell & Z87 version, I used i7. Note that the on board wifi will not work but if you have LAN then no issue or buy a usb wifi.

    Hardware Selection Advice Needed

Hi, the wifi does not work (intel based) but there are plenty of wifi usb adaptors that work fine if your board has none. I use either of the 2xLAN ports realtek & atherous. I also have a Draytek Vigor USB Wifi that works fine. The on board Bluetooth works fine. When audio fails it just...

    Hardware Selection Advice Needed

Hi, in general the board will run Mavericks well. Multibeast has drivers for the Realtek LAN and audio ALC888. If the audio fails you sometimes need to mess around a bit. Apart from that you should be fine...can you elaborate on bluetooth adaptor issue? My Z87 is dual booting with Windows as well.

    Dell XPS13 - L321X Intermittent hang up

Hi, it could be that you need to override EDID. I had to do this on my Dell with ML 10.8 as it had the same intermittent issues. On the top right search look for EDID.

    Okay, here we go!

Hi, Mavericks supports the Haswell CPUs so the Z87 is fine with the i7 Haswell latest and greatest.

    Hardware Selection Advice Needed

Hi I think you need to move to the i7 as the graphics are very well suited and you are doing injustice using an i5. Look possibly for companies doing bundles Mobo + CPU. Check out Storks...

    Okay, here we go!

Hi the configuration is fine but with such a good graphics card I think your doing it injustice to go only i5. I would use i7 but its all about cost..:)
