Thanks, but that's not it, tried it and still only one USB3 port works as USB3, other ports are identified as USB2. It is enough for me since I only really need this to download hundreds of GBs of video footage from the cameras and cards and other media, one at a time.
Only variable that comes...
I added KextsToPatch manually in clover configurator, and now USB3 external drives connect and show up, but they are still under 2.0 Bus. Something weird is going on.
EDIT: Looks like some of the USB 3 ports on the MOBO work, not all. Well, guess that it's as good as it gets for now.
Once...
Yes, I do all that, but multibeast fails to add the patch to clover config
This is 10.13.3, all the latest kexts and multibeast. I install selected patch with multibeast, but config.plist does not change.
I did it once more to the letter, and still my USB3 devices don't work.
When I compare your Clover config screenshots to mine I see one difference in KextsToPatch section, I have one missing entry, where did I go wrong? (screenshot attached)
Hi malki and others, I have installed everything, works great. I have USB problem that I can’t solve after hours of trying, when I do everything by the guide, my USB 3.0 devices are not working at all in 3.0 ports. 2.0 devices work, and 3.0 devices work in 2.0 ports. If I remove all the kexts...
No, I also don't use hdmi audio, it is played back from audio usb card Focusrite conected to monitor speakers. Even in Premiere If I use that tv (1080p samsung) as, for example, full screen monitor it is few frames out of sync comparing to the other two Dell's, one is 2.5k on Display port and...
@malki
Do you experience any lag over hdmi to tv. I have dual monitor setup (dp and dvi) and samsung tv over hdmi, and when I play videos in vlc or other players on that tv, audio is a bit off and there is some stutter so the motion is not fluid. It is fine on other two screens. I noticed that...
@Coquin @malki
I just enabled XHCI in bios and suddenly this:
Everything is seen as usb3.0, and working. If this system report is only cosmetics, I'm ok with it.
Thanks for help Coquin.
I tried to use Generic 3rd party USB 3.0 kext by RehabMan, removed 4 usb related kexts (Two FakePCIID..., USBInjectAll.kext and X99_Injector USB 3.kext) from EFI>CLOVER>Kexts>Other and put there Generic kext. And also removed from SLE the USBInjectAll.kext and put there the Generic USB kext...
Hi, I have installed everything to the letter from the guide, and it was the smoothest and quickest hackintosh installation ever. For me. Only my USB3.0 does not work. I have all the kexts and have installed patch in multibeast, but same as @japxbo
Any suggestion what to try?
Overall it seems...
Coquin, there is Malki's guide for El Cap here: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/success-i7-5820k-gtx-970-ga-x99-ud4-el-capitan-10-11-2-clover-guide-100-working.183441/
Hi Malki, thanks for this new guide. In your El Capitan guides did it take any special steps/patches to enable power management or it just worked, I can't remember now? Maybe we did something there that should be skipped now when Os (maybe) has better support for our platform?
Yeah, the workaround is no problem, just thought I might have maybe skipped something obvious like some bios setting or something. So, you don't have this issue?
I haven't followed any Youtube video, only the written guide from user Malki on the link that I've posted, and I managed to install El Cap on my configuration without any trouble, so to speak. Only difference is that I have installed 10.11.3, and the guide is for 10.11.2, in the newer...
Could someone please shed some light on this, when I have Usb 3.0 external drives connected before the system is loaded and booted they work only as 2.0. But if I connect them after boot, they work as 3.0
Not really a deal breaker, but why is that happening?
So if I reboot with a usb 3.0...
@kwaiet
Check out this guide if you haven't already http://www.tonymacx86.com/el-capitan-desktop-guides/183441-success-i7-5820k-gtx-970-ga-x99-ud4-el-capitan-10-11-2-clover-guide-100-working.html
Only my RAM is recognised as DDR3 in system report, is that something to be concerned about, does that influence the performance or is it just cosmetics due to Mac Pro SMBIOS?
Complete success with:
X99-UD4 F21a
5820k
Gigabyte gtx970
4x8gb Kinston DDR4 2133 RAM
*focusrite USB audio interface
I had some ups and downs during installation but it is finally working! It took around 36 hours of constant trying what works and what does not, but mainly it was...
Thanks for help,
I haven't had any success in fixing this issue.
First I've tried to get that new update from appstore, changed my smbios to imac 13,1 and update appeared and installed with no problems. Just had to reinstall audio kexts again via hackinstaller.
Put in GTX650 but crashes...
