One more question. I haven't been able to solve ... how can I change the OpenCore boot picker name for CCC bootable clone drives? They show up right next to each other, and I keep picking the wrong one.
Ahhhhhhhh...that was it. I had that in my notes for use with the z690 i225-v. I had it still disabled on the z390.
Thank you Casey. That was super helpful!
Yeah, wifi still works booted on the Monterey backup :)
Trying to decide between troubleshooting this, installing fresh Ventura or saying f it and just upgrading to Sonoma/Itlwm. I will miss unlock with watch/web page handoff but it'll have to happen at some point
Hi all,
I just updated my z390 Designare and z690 ProArt to Ventura 13.6.3 from latest Monterey (OC 0.9.7) ... the Asus with a Fenvi T919 make it through OK, but the z390 with a Youbu PCIE (also a BCM94360CD) didn't make it. Bluetooth works but wifi won't enable. The logs have this error

Hi All. I'm wondering if anyone here has gotten a 6000 series GPU working in slot 2? I've been running my ProArt with a 6900 XT in slot 1 without issues but have recently been trying to get a Nvidia going in Slot 1 for Windows/Linux ML work and moving the 6900 XT to a riser cable in slot 2. It...
Now the question is wether to risk BIOS update or just leave mitigations in place. Even though it's not on the list I believe the z690 Pro Art is also impacted as I found the UEFI exe in my System32 folder when I checked (don't have the name handy right now from one of the articles).
Seems like there is a report that many Gigabyte motherboards have an insecure auto firmware update feature they are likening to a backdoor.
Seems like the z390 Designare (or any z390/z490 boards) doesn't have the UEFI backdoor issue that other Gigabyte motherboards are said to have. Note this...
I'm seeing some people reporting issues with the latest Ventura 13.3.1 release, but I'm wondering if there are any issues with Monterey 12.6.5? Are the networking issues present in Ventura also present in Monterey? Thanks!
Hi Dehjomz. It's this one, which says it's Intel Alpine Ridge LP. I just opened the enclosure and it says that it's a JHL6240 chipset.

I see this note from CaseySJ from the guide "Older Thunderbolt devices such as Thunderbolt 2 and those with an...
Thunderbolt question with the z690 proart. I recently got a OWC Envoy Express to use with my M1 14" MBP. This is really my first modern Thunderbolt device. It won't hot plug on the Z690, and, when the computer sleeps, it disconnects the Envoy without ejecting it. Real bummer to have to reboot...
