OpenCore, Big Sur and I believe I followed your tutorial here: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/the-dell-optimac-big-sur-opencore-thread-for-7020-9020-optiplex-desktops.302383/ I dug around looking because I couldn't remember till I found that link.
I have 2 9020 MTs that I set up for dual boot a couple years ago. I have not touched any of the setup since but I want to try to get dual display on both. I saw a YouTube where the guy plugged in the bottom DP then let it start to boot. When it was booting he plugged in the top DP and had dual...
I just ran across a GTX745 It has 1 DVI and 1 HDMI port. Would that be a better solution? Although I am fairly sure none of my displays have HDMI. Could I run 1 off the HD4600 and a second off the GTX745?
Thanks for the reply. I'm using 2 of these https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GORJY4U/?tag=tonymacx86com-20 to 2 Dell 1907FPs for the moment. I'll upgrade the displays but that's what I had on hand to get going with. Both DPs work individually with either display at the moment. Where I run into issues...
Has anyone had any luck with dual displays using 2 Digital Ports on an HD4600 card? I can use either port just fine but when I plug in a second monitor or try to boot with both plugged in it does not work.
Tried running the OptiMac today getting it set up for my daughter. Does any one have any insight on why Safari won't run Netflix and on Chrome it runs but buffers constantly? Internet speed isn't the issue. I have it hard wired to the router with 497mbps down. I'm also having issues with Kodi...
Mine did not have bootstrap in it and it worked well. I installed Big Sur 11.5.1. 11.5.2 came out the day after I downloaded it.
Is there anything special to updates or do we just run them like on a Mac?
Looked at the Linux a little deeper. I didn’t have a Win disk that would boot without changing the BIOS back. But here is what I found. Says it is an Intel HD4600.
Ok. That's what came up with an lshw in terminal on a linux boot USB. Let me see if I can boot a Windows drive and find out for sure. Or is the board marked somewhere?
Ok I filled in the build with the info I was able to pull through a linux boot USB. And I see it didn't post. Standby, sorry. The Graphics card is a Xeon E3-1200. (Put the info in my signature. Couldn't find where to edit the left box and the "Builds" panel didn't save anything.)
@trs96 I followed the guide and it went smooth on a 9020 MT with the i7. I'm trying today to do it on an i5 and I'm hanging on IOConsoleUsers: gIOScreenLockState 3, bs 0, now 0, sm 0x0. Where did I go wrong with this machine?
