Z690 Chipset Motherboards and Alder Lake CPU

I've solved the issue with a fresh install of macOS.

Z690 Chipset Motherboards and Alder Lake CPU

Hello there! I've built another hackintosh, same motherboard and CPU as the one I have now. Everything works fine with the same EFI folder but the CPU on the new one, my 13900KF refuse to go further than 3Ghz in macOS. (same BIOS version too). It does work fine in Windows, and also on my main...

    << Solved >> BCM_4350C2 Bluetooth not working on 12.3

Hi, I solved the issue by buying a PCIe adapter card and a flexible x1 PCIe. Recognized natively without any issue. Universal Control works fine. The M.2 thing was just a nightmare to deal with.

Z690 Chipset Motherboards and Alder Lake CPU

I was kind of afraid of using it. For now, it does work and benchmarks tend to confirm the performance boost. I will get using it for now and see how it handles the music workload I'm about to throw at it. I will keep you posted. I do. I'm using this one...

Did anyone try CpuTopologyRebuild kext? I got a slight uplift in both Cinebench (+300pts) and Geekbench on my 13900KF (Hyperthreading off) using it.

    << Solved >> BCM_4350C2 Bluetooth not working on 12.3

With a working USB Mapping, the Bluetooth is back. However, I have no idea how to get the WIFI. It's not even shown on any PCI bridge.

    << Solved >> BCM_4350C2 Bluetooth not working on 12.3

I created the current USBMap, but it was in Catalina. I have an external bootable backup of Catalina right before the upgrade to Monterey. I will try doing the mapping in Catalina again today. The BT chip was using HS11. That's exactly the setup I have yes. The chip and a pair of antenna...

    << Solved >> BCM_4350C2 Bluetooth not working on 12.3

Sorry. That post came straight out of frustration. Thanks for your reply. I will provide an EFI later this week. I've reverted the changes to have something working fine again. Regarding your questions: It's new and it looks like new. No way to test it on another machine sadly. Bluetooth works...

    << Solved >> BCM_4350C2 Bluetooth not working on 12.3

Hi there, I bought a BCM94360NG for my ASUS PRIME X299 A-II and there is no way to make it work. I almost got the Bluetooth working (it refuses to be recognized with my USB mapping, the only way I had it "better recognized" was by using USBInjectAll). I tried the kexts mentioned in Opencore but...

New SSDs added to the recommended list of the Buyer's Guide

Out of curiosity, would a Gen 4 SSD (like the SN850X) boost dramatically the overall experience of macOS over PCIe Gen 3?

Do we agree that AppleXcpmForceBoost is not needed when a proper CPUDataProvider is present?

I don't use sleep at all (as I cut the power of my whole studio at the end of the day). I can't try the sleep feature yet as I'm working on a musical project this week. If I have time, I will give it a shot.

I found a great deal for DDR4 4400. Is it worth the upgrade from 3200 for my 13900KF?

Agreed. But 64GB of DDR5 ain't cheap. EDIT: I will check on Black Friday for a great 4400Mhz kit. With tight timing, it can do the trick.

I've started tightening my memory timing. It does increase a bit of everything. https://browser.geekbench.com/v5/cpu/18544037 Still have a full day or two of tweaks and I should be pretty much set!

Oh, I didn't know about this one. Thanks for sharing! I was just making my own using the CPUFriendFriend script. I will try it right away. Also, I don't mind having lesser single-core performance. I'm aiming for a good balance between power consumption and performance (trying to run a silent and...

Here is a Geekbench score. https://browser.geekbench.com/v5/cpu/18524116 I do have CPUFriend + DataProvider, but I may have used it wrong?

It's 5.2/4.2 yes, I assume it's all core. Single-core is quite bad actually. I don't know why or how.
