So I've decided to take the plunge and purchase an Xserve case. Currently working on having a 2,1 version shipped (same body as the 3,1). The plan is to gut the entire case while leaving the essentials intact (hoping to get the front IO working and upgrade the front USB 2.0 port to a 3.0/3.1)...
