    [SUCCESS] Opus i9 Build: Gigabyte Gaming X Z390 - i9-9900K - Radeon RX 6900 XT Ultimate

I can use the Magic Keyboard in Windows. However, I whenever I boot into an OS, I need to go into settings and remove the keyboard from the list of paired bluetooth devices, and then pair it again to get it to work. As long as I have done that and the keyboard is functional before I reboot...

Hi Tedyun, I'm wondering if you ever found a solution for your Magic Mouse disconnecting after reboot? I am having the same problem, and after booting from Windows into Mac OS I have to remove the Magic Keyboard and Magic Mouse devices, and then add them again to get them working. This forces...

    Gigabyte Z690 Aero G + i5-12600K + AMD RX 6800 XT

I was never certain whether my problem was solved by rolling back the BIOS to version 6, or by enabling SetupVirtualMap, but it sounds as if I could have kept the 20a BIOS and enabling SetupVirtualMap would have done the trick.

    Gigabyte Z690 Aero G + i5-12600K + AMD RX 6800 XT

Hello Forum, I am running Monterey 12.5 on CaseySJ's build, and whenever I plug my Ethernet cable into the Z690 Aero's Ethernet port, the system crashes and reboots within 30-60 seconds. In System Information I can see that the OS is recognizing the native Intel Ethernet module, and has...

    Gigabyte Z690 Aero G + i5-12600K + AMD RX 6800 XT

Ultimately I flashed the Gigabyte BIOS back to version 6, and also enabled SetupVirtualMap in the config.plist, and then I was able to boot the installer from the USB drive. The build is up and running now. Thanks so much to both of you for your help!

    Gigabyte Z690 Aero G + i5-12600K + AMD RX 6800 XT

OK, I did as you suggested and used the new 0.8.3 EFI folder with modifications per the post. I had the same problem with booting: attaching the error log and new config.plist file. I really appreciate your help, CaseySJ!

Yes, I just confirmed that CFG-Lock is set to disabled in BIOS, so that does not seem to be the problem. Thank you!

Hello, forum! I hope you can help me to get MacOS installed on this build. I am attempting to install Monterey 12.5 from a USB drive that I prepared according to CaseySJ's instructions in this thread. After choosing "Install MacOS Monterey" from the OpenCore picker, the computer hangs on the...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Hello all! Many thanks to CaseySJ for this guide! I successfully built my first ever hackintosh using it during this past week. My only problem at this point is I have no Ethernet connection. Both of my Ethernet cards appear in System Report, but they do not detect the Ethernet cable when I...

<< Solved >> Help! Cannot create bootable USB drive - Disk Utility does not create EFI

Thanks to all for your help! I purchased a 16 GB USB flash drive, and Mac OS Disk Utility formatted the drive as expected, with creation of the EFI partition for use in later tasks. I did not yet try to create a smaller partition within the larger USB drive, but I may do that later out of...

<< Solved >> Help! Cannot create bootable USB drive - Disk Utility does not create EFI

I tried using both Mac OS High Sierra and Catalina 10.15.4. So, it seems that my best option is to create an 8 or 16 GB partition on my 64GB flash drive, and then format that partition using Disk Utility, which should generate an EFI partition within? I'm going to try it as soon as I get home...

<< Solved >> Help! Cannot create bootable USB drive - Disk Utility does not create EFI

Thanks, P1LGRIM. I hope you're correct: it would be easy enough to use a larger flash drive. However, I did use a 64GB flash drive to attempt to create my bootable Mac OS installer, and I ran into the same road block: no detectable EFI partition. I like your idea about manually creating a...

<< Solved >> Help! Cannot create bootable USB drive - Disk Utility does not create EFI

Thanks, UtterDisbelief. This is what is killing me: the terminal version of disk utility lists the EFI partition of my HDD, so I can see how that is supposed to look, but it does not list any EFI partition for my USB flash drive, even though it indicates the flash drive is in a GUID partition...
