My bad apparently this place is a little strict on exactly who should be posting; disregard. In my defense it was about the only place I could find any discussion on the issue.

This is not happening in my situation with an LG-27BK85U; I get no HDR label on the monitor OSD after unchecking "High Dynamic Range" in display settings and horrible washed out colors when it's checked but the "HDR" label does show up.
