Did you try this kext? Install and update caches. This was to get the VIA ports working in ML but who knows. If you did not do a clean install maybe you had this update in since you said your VIA ports were working. Maybe remove the kext if you have it in. This is the newer version that enabled...

I would keep trying to install it. Also, after install I would do another rebuild of your perms/caches. If you get an error the kext will not work. Keep trying, it is worth the effort. ;-) I have attached my installed kext. It works 100% Cheers, AC3.

Looks like you can use as many displays as you have connections. One guy has 9 on 4 cards in his mac pro. With new cards you should be able to run up to 16 with 4 port cards.

This could be the fix to my issue. I noticed the 10.8.2 nvidia drivers. I thought I should not use those because Apple included new drivers in 10.8.3. If not I will install those post haste. -ac3
