    I went ahead and started over completely, using a fresh mojave install (not upgraded from high sierra). Confirmed bios version is 1.06 and triple checked every step as I followed through the guide. Still having the same issue as before although if I plug the ac adapter in the trackpad works...

    Just tried the steps listed above. The trackpad is still acting jumpy like before. I will reinstall and start over tomorrow.     It seems to be an issue with the ACPIBatteryManager kext, when I remove it the trackpad is smooth. I have noticed when that kext is removed the settings for the trackpad in System Preferences is also removed. Is this kext connected to the trackpad somehow?

I have noticed that although the trackpad work as it should (multitouch, gestures) but it seems to be jumpy...
