I tried the upgrade without success in making my broadcom card work, and thus have decided that Sonoma is not worth that hassle and reinstalled Ventura. Super happy with all features I need working as expected.
Yes, the one-way airdrop issue has been reported by multiple users: check out this link.
As far as I know there is no official fix. I personally faced this issue as well, but updating to Ventura 13.0.1 last week solved it. Give it a try.
Sure, here it goes.
As far as the slow boot problem, the only solution I found was to replace my Samsung drive with a Western Digital one. I am not sure if Ventura has the same issue as Monterey, but if you test it please let us know how it goes.
I have been using it with Monterey for nearly six months now and it works quite well. I just needed to make some adjustments to make it work with my DW1560, which also works with all features (wifi, bluetooth, airdrop etc).
Last weekend I pulled the trigger to update to Ventura and it took less...
It means that your drive still supports it (in terms of hardware), but it won't run because it's turned off by the operating system (SetApfsTrimTimeout=0).
By doing that you need to be sure to understand that you are disabling the Trim feature. On the long term this can lead to performance degradation, due to the nature of solid state drives. Whether one considers this acceptable for their use case is up to debate, but you really need to be aware...
Sorry @Rajkhand, I hadn't had the chance to test it until your reminder. First of all thanks for taking the time to prepare the file.
It worked for me but front ports were USB2 only and one of the rear USB3 ports that I needed (the couple ports beside the ethernet connector) was not enabled.
I...
Many thanks for the prompt response @Rajkhand!
However, even with your kext the front ports still won't respond to any device connected. It's not hardware malfunction since they work fine on the Windows partition.
I wonder if I have to make any changes on the .aml files as well?
@Rajkhand thanks for sharing it and sorry for the incredibly slow response - my Hackintosh is my production computer and I need to be careful not to risk any important project.
With your USBPorts.kext I got all the rear USB ports working and providing full energy when charging phones etc. I...
I have a special request as well.
If you use OpenCore and have mapped your USB ports for the Z370N, and they include the front ones, can you please share your EFI?
I ask because in Big Sur 11.3 USB ports must be mapped, otherwise most of the USB devices will stop working.
@Rajkhand and @rrviega could you guys please check the charging current provided to your Apple devices?
With the device connected, click the Apple button -> About this Mac -> System Report -> USB (under the first tab Hardware). Then click the name of the device and please report the value for...
Hey folks,
Has anyone managed to get 2100mA of power from the USB ports using OpenCore while charging their iPhone/iPad/iPod?
It used to work with Clover, but probably needs some extra configuration with OC that I was not able to find.
Just wondering: what about the fact that iMac18,1 doesn't come with a dedicated GPU?
Can this negatively affect a Hackintosh equipped with, say, a RX580?
@Rajkhand can you please detail how you made your DW1560 work? Are you still on Catalina or have you tried Big Sur?
What about fixing DRM, what was the magic?
Thanks for the reply. I'm looking forward for the release of Big Sur.
Just one more question though. What wireless/bluetooth device you have in your hackintosh? By any chance it's a Broadcom BCM94352Z?
I ask because this is the wireless device I have and I'm a bit worried that it won't be Big...
