Did some testing with the debug version of OC and did some research yesterday:
Kernel panic after updating Kexts: updated my kexts one by one and seems that all kexts can be updated without a problem except for AtherosE2200Ethernet.kext. When I update to the latest version (Version 2.3.2...
Did some testing with the debug version of OC and did some research today:
The 'OC: failed to load configuration' was fixed by deleting the open core boot options with File Browser Del Boot Option in the BIOS
Realpath and Textmode message dissappeared when booting with OC 0.6.5
The progress bar...
OK sorry, didn't post my config.plist in which I changed the audio section, because I didn't think it's an issue, I still have the same problems after the change in the audio section. You can find my config.plist with changed audio section (which still gives me the same troubles) below.
I already did the full comparison, changed everything that I should change. The PlayChime section isn't, as I thought it wouldn't, the culprit of my problem. I can't boot with opencore 0.6.5, I get 'OC: failed to load configuration'. When I boot with my hard drive (which has my EFI with OC...
Ok I used the ocvalidate tool. This turned up the result in screenshot below
Did the adjustments to PlayChime and SetupDelay.
Still have the exact same problems...
I already did the comparison and made the necessary adjustments. Just now checked my config.plist with Sanity Checker and made suggested changes. Still I encounter the exact same problems, on first run progress bar freezes, on second boot 'OC: failed to load configuration'... Below the EFI i...
Hi,
Which version of OC are you guys running? On my machine under OC 0.6.3 everything is fine. When i update to 0C 0.6.5 I get 'OC: failed to load configuration' when I update my kexts (AppleALC, AtherosE2200Ethernet, Lilu, VirtualSMC and WhateverGreen) I can get it to the Apple logo but the...
Running Big Sur 11.0.1 for a few days now and everything's going smooth.
When I update Open Core however to OC 0.6.4, update my kexts (Apple ALC, Atheros2200, Lilu, VirtualSMC and Whatevergreen) and adjust my config.plist after doing the comparison with the sample.plist, I get kernel panic...
Updated to opencore 0.6.4 did the comparison with the sample.plist and made adjustments and updated all my kexts (Apple ALC, Atheros2200, Lilu, VirtualSMC and Whatevergreen). Now I get kernel panic when booting. Running macOS Big Sur 11.0.1 on my DELL XPS 8930 hack.
Can anyone help?
Managed to adapt the USB-MAP.kext. The bluetooth IOgear dongle works to connect my magic mouse and keyboard, Handoff still doesn't work, i found this https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/302410-patch-enabling-handoff-for-non-apple-bt4-devices/?page=3 where they suggest to patch the...
Thank you for the quick reply. Under Clover i managed the USB ports in Hackintool, now in Open Core I'm not sure if Hackintool is the best option? What do you suggest?
Hi Dandelion,
Followed your guide for my Dell XPS 8930 hack and everything is working. Great write-up again! Many thanks!
I didn't go for a Broadcom Wifi and Bluetooth card hence i don't need wifi on my machine. For the matter of Bluetooth, the internal bluetooth of the XPS 8930 works, but...
Followed the guide and got the computer sleep slider back, but now enable power nap and start up automatically after power failure options are gone... OS version: 10.15.2 - Mac Model: iMac 19,1. Any suggestions on getting those 2 options back?
Do I add both files you uploaded without changing their names? Do I have to change things to my config.plist in Clover Configurator. I used USB PLMP before, do I need to disable those?
I have the exact samen problem, did you find a solution for this other than removing USBInjectAll.kext. I really need the Wifi and BT from the BCM-card.
Thanks for your reply! My Broadcom Wifi/BT card arrived today, got it installed, will start installing Catalina tomorrow with your EFI containing your Catalina Clover folder. Anything I should now about your Catalina install, things that broke, went wrong? Thanks for the heads up!
Downloaded your EFI folder. Noticed there are a Microsoft, Tools and APPLE folder which i don't have when creating installer USB with Unibeast. Do in need these folders in the EFI (escpecially Microsoft since I will only be installing OS X) ?
What are the UEFI drivers for? Don't you need them to...
