I have a strange problem which concerns my hackintosh and also my brand new MBP 16" 5500m (but not my old vega20 mbp):
I always copy brucex 4 times, then run the test and divide the result by 4. But since the new update 10.15.2 Catalina + 10.4.8 FCPX there is something wrong. The first export of...
Nopes, backgroundrending is off. However, I own a MBP 16" 2,4 Ghz 5500m as well, and I had an export time of 11,2 secs brucex. So I think waynefox indeed forgotten to turn off background rendering.
Yes problem solved! 9900K + Dual Vega56 :headbang:
It seemed that Mojave has a different way of handling framebuffers. You need to inject in manually through Clover:
1. Download FB-patcher, you will find the link in this thread...
Possible the export runs now because IGPU (and quick sync) is disabled. You can check this by downloading Macx video converter pro and see if hardware acceleration is turned on. This is important, because quick sync will cut render times in half.
Have you tried Intel FB-patcher? I think your frame buffer patch isn't complete right now for your system (see attachment). You need to generate one specific for your system.

The last 6 months I worked with Dual RX 580's in my system, everything worked perfect. Optimal performance in FCPX: two cards were used including quicksync. Then I decided to upgrade to a Vega 64. Everything was perfect, slightly better performance than the Dual RX 580. I wanted more...
Installed the Vega 64 on my 9900K. Rendertime is now between 11.5 - 12.5 seconds with quick sync enabled. Without 13.9 seconds.
The upgrade from 8700k to 9900k did nothing. Dual RX 580 to Vega 64 did give an improvement of 1 - 2 seconds. Not worth the money I guess. But BruceX test is outdated...
You made my day, thank you!!! This was the solution. Now the rendertime is 13 seconds again. Just ordered a vega 64. Hopefully this will bring the score under 10 seconds.
I just did an upgrade from my "old" six-core 8700k to a brand-new eight-core 9900k CPU. I Also upgraded the system memory from 32 gb to 64 gb. The BruceX export time in FCPX was:
13.1 seconds with the 8700K/32gb
17.45 seconds with the 9900k/64gb
Cinebech and Geekbench are showing much faster...
