In fact the CPU had died. Replaced CPU and things got better. I then went on to replace my GTX 1050 with a RX560 so as to be able to run mojave... I followed this build by @markoskz and now all is well at the exception of sound and some random reboots but pretty good :)

The Gigabyte Z390I was faulty (no MB beeps (yes I plugged in a motherboad buzzer/speaker)) so now waiting for replacement. I seriously should have just bought an iMac in the first place... :D

Update: My Gigabyte Z370N seem to have died (hilariously 1 week after the end of warranty...). I've just ordered a Z390I (based on this successful build report) as the Z370N seems to have been discontinued.

No it comes and goes. When it happens I restart until it goes away..... Good thing I don't have to reboot often.... :D

This is likely to be a dumb question but why would you want to regularly (hence the automation need) backup your EFI volume? I was under the assumption that it doesn't change once your hackintosh is setup? Am I missing something? :)

It's decent for an NVIDIA setup (AMD GPU get render time under 10 seconds) and shows that there is definitely something wrong with my setup since I've got higher specs... Hmm something else to sort out and fix! :)

I haven't tried anything else than 10.13.3 (yet...) but I remember seeing post indicating that quicksync was less so of an issue prior to 10.13.3 and HS in general.

Sadly no. I have the feeling quicksync simply doesn't work with 10.3.3 (I have yet to find someone who truly got it to work). We can either revert to 10.3.2 or wait for 10.3.4 (and hope).
