Installing from a SATA Drive (i.e. not USB)

Thanks, guys ... I was able to (so d@rn easily) create a Windows PC; I added a FENVi for WiFi and an RX 560 Graphics card and drivers without issue. I do realize that "they" have a much broader market and HAVE TO make these installs work on all kinds of h/w... but, man, it was so easy ;<>) So...

Installing from a SATA Drive (i.e. not USB)

Actually I have updated it (maybe it doesn't change within an existing thread?)... and I found a FRESH INSTALL FROM USB for windows.

Installing from a SATA Drive (i.e. not USB)

I don't suppose that there is a"guide" of sorts anywhere that can talk me through a basic Windows build .. I think I recall seeing some of this in the Dortania guidelines... I'll try there first.

Installing from a SATA Drive (i.e. not USB)

Sorry, I thought I had changed my profile ,,, it is updated now. I now have a H470M-PLUS and no graphics card. May I ask if that (still) means I can remove the entire DEVICE PROPERTIES section as shown previously (as Mr. FearTech has suggested.) And Thanks A LOT for the "start with Windows"...

Installing from a SATA Drive (i.e. not USB)

This is supposed to be valid for Comet Lake Core i5-10600K on my PRIMT H470M-PLUS But I get the black screen

Installing from a SATA Drive (i.e. not USB)

Some progress... I was able to get the USB to work and not get stuck. I was also able to find the correct set of DEVICE PROPERTIES for my mobo ... The problem now is that after many pages of messages the screen goes BLACK and everything stops. I am wondering if this is when the OpenCore is...

Installing from a SATA Drive (i.e. not USB)

The only way can see clear to SOME level of installation is to remove all additional h/w (WiFi, Graphics card) and use my 2nd SATA drive as the source. I am using the SATA since I cannot get passed the USB installer getting stuck waiting for ROOT DEVICE. Having read a lot of the Dortania...

Installing from a SATA Drive (i.e. not USB)

Interesting... I am starting with the on board graphics but plan to move to a: HP AMD Radeon RX 560 2GB GPU VRAM Graphics Card So (a) The mobo doesn't say *exactly* what the Graphics stuff is; where can I find out what CONFIG.Plist changes I should make for this mobo's graphics? I see that...

Installing from a SATA Drive (i.e. not USB)

I agree... FYI -- I added the WiFi card -- no joy. And as far as you know there is no means to enable/disable things like this in the CONFIG.PList ??

Installing from a SATA Drive (i.e. not USB)

The BIOS on my mobo ASUS Prime H570M-PLUS has no BLUETOOTH nor WiFi. I do have a FENVI T919 that I plan to use for WiFi... should I put that in now?

Thanks! Do you mean in the BIOS or in my config.plist somewhere?

Installing from a SATA Drive (i.e. not USB)

Hi, I was getting 'stuck' at the STILL WAITING FOR ROOT DEVICE with all my USB attempts so I created a SATA drive of the EFI and Ventura Install, and am booting from that. This setup gets A LOT farther but now is "looping" with a group of 20 or so messages --> launchd...

    Build Questions for Ventura

After a bit more reading I am coming to the conclusion that trying to get the combination of a 500 series mobo with a Core i5 and Ventura will be "challenging" For anyone still hanging onto this thread (firstly - THANK YOU very much !) and nextly, I am considering reorienting this build using...

    Build Questions for Ventura

    Build Questions for Ventura

Thank you for being so patient with me ... IT IS PAYING OFF ! I understand the compatibility issues you've described. The conclusion I draw from it all is: A. Core i5-10600K is compatible with mobo (and the ASUS website supports that.) B. This combination *can* use the onboard graphics with...

    Build Questions for Ventura

Hi, Basic Build Questions: 1. I've been told that this mobo will not support a core i5-10600K, but the description clearly shows that it is 11th/10th... Will these work together? ASUS Prime H570M-PLUS/CSM LGA1200 (Intel 11th/10th Gen) MicroATX Motherboard (PCIe 4.0, 8 Power Stages, HDMI, DVI...

All of the mATX suggested motherboards are unavailable .... so...

This Just In ... Scratch that Radeon graphics card it is actually a Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1050 2GB GDDR5 128 Bit PCI-E Graphic Card (GV-N1050D5-2GD) Can this be used with ASUS Prime and Ventura?? But more importantly do I absolutely need an additional Graphics card on this mobo and Ventura?

All of the mATX suggested motherboards are unavailable .... so...

Thanks for the responses... Pls allow me to paraphrase. 1. Without an additional Graphics Card, I leave the internal graphics (iGPU) ENABLEd so that I can use the HDMI/DVI connections right on the mobo. 2. "You need a 10th Gen mobo for Core i5-10600K..." -- the mobo I am using says it...

All of the mATX suggested motherboards are unavailable .... so...

Thanks for the info ... I had already purchased the core i5-10600K.. so that's a given. Regarding the DISABLE THE IGPU... I am not adding a Graphics Card of any sort and will use the on-baord video functions of the motherboard. So your suggestion regarding disabling the IGPU in the bios still...
