10.15 was fine - define smbios you mean the model of the 'pretend' mac ? .. possibly. I think it's currently at 14,2

I think it's just before it is supposed to show the login screen. The machine is up and I can ssh into it but no remote login/screen sharing. Usually the machine does not need WEG or Lilu (but I have tried with the latest of those as well). It has an RX 480 in it.

Has anyone managed to upgrade to 10.15.1 without being stuck at a black screen ?

RX-480 here - same issue .. black screen. Has anyone had issues using the newer AMD cards ? (considering if it's worth upgrading the card =))
