Hi, I tried setting FileVault on in Sierra -- which was stupid because I should have checked whether this would be a total disaster. It is, in fact, a total disaster since my machine now won't even boot. Is there a way to undo what I did? Thanks in advance. Mark

Thanks very much! I had found the posting regarding the newer graphics drivers causing this problem. Didn't know about the invalid ig-platform-id though, thanks for that too. It's hard going down these forum rabbit holes, but pays off eventually ;) Mark
