There is /Extra there. At the time Sandy Bridge didn't mean anything to me, and I follow the guide without doing the Update Helper part, I just went on with the 10.6.8 combo part. I later downloaded the Update Helper to look at it and saw it said to run it before the Combo Update. By then was...

I didn't add my main pc to my profile cause I have not attempted a hackintosh install on and still not sure I will till i read/learn more. But I will add it. EDIT: 2nd build details are not saving in my profile. Possibly cause my motherboard isn't listed in the pull down menus.

I bought Snow Leopard many years ago when I first tried this. As for buying the next OS well its old and probably not worth buying. I would buy the latest OS if I had a machine here that it would work on. But this is just something I am trying to pass some time since I no longer work and to see...

I reinstalled the OS again and this time didn't do any software update and it is still working well several days later. Just no access to the App Store or iTunes. Still reading the forums to figure out...

Few hours later and some software updates done and now not a lot works any more. iTunes wont open, iChat wont open. I made an appleID but it wont sign in to the app store. Gives me a reason to redo this and get the hang of the install steps. I know bugger all about the apple os, so noob mistakes...
