MSI Geforce 1080 TI Gaming X working perfectly on Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UP5 TH motherboard. I had to upgrade the BIOS to the latest version to make it past the BIOS splash screen.
Installed 10.9.4 combo update as described. Used multi beast 6.4.1 to enable trim and audio (ALC898). After reboot trim fix was successful but still no audio. Updated Chimera, but no result.

Had the same problem with my onboard FireWire port (VIA VT6308). Drive was visible in system report, but not mounted in finder or disk utility.
After putting back the IOFireWireFamily.kext from Lion 10.7.4, the problem was fixed.
