After reading this post (thanks imbrenden!) and setting vCore in my BIOS as recommended (1.140V), the problem has been fully solved here - photoanalysisd has successfully scanned over 40000 images after the change without any hickups whatsoever - before the change, the photoanalysisd proces...
Given your hardware and the symptoms, it sounds like the problem discussed in this thread (among others) - did you by any chance have the Photos app open (even in the background)? I have the same hardware (motherboard and CPU) and the same issue, and it started after upgrading to Sierra, and...
Ok thanks, just tested 14.1 to make sure, but that crashes too, so in my setup there is no difference between 14.1, 14.2, 15.1 and 15.2 - they all crash when (and only when) photoanalysisd gets going.

Which Sys Def would you recommend? I have tried 14.2, 15.1 and 15.2 all behave the same in terms of crashing when Photos starts doing it's housekeeping stuff.

This is quite odd. I have (almost) the same Motherboard and CPU (no dedicated graphics though) and I also experience graphics related crashes - whenever I start the Photos app, the machine spontaneously reboots. At least a few others have reported similar problems with GigaByte Z97 boards and...
I had a similar problem - after updating to Clover 3761 every attempt at booting stopped spontaneously by powering off the machine. 3751 and 3763 behaved in the same way, but after seeing elsewhere that some people had issues with recent versions of clover on some GigaByte boards I downloaded...
Depends on wether it stops before Chameleon starts loading or finishes loading :)
In my case, I suspected a chameleon issue because I saw the first rotation of the spinner ('|', '/', '-', '\'), but then it stopped, so my guess was that chameleon started loading, but choked on one or more of the...
What are the symptoms - stopping at the spinner or?
I've been using a RocketRaid 2720SGL for a couple of years and it works fine (first in a p55 board and for the last couple of weeks in a z97 board running Yosemite), but the last 6 months or so, I've had to prevent chameleon from scanning...
Unibeast fails for me while writing to my USB stick, and it seems the cause is that my root filesystem (ie. the one containing the Install OS X Mavericks.app) is case sensitive - is this something that can be solved? (Other than reformatting my disk - I use case sensitive filesystems on all my...
Requirements:
Cheap - <100$
Low power - not much more than 50-100W (have a 360W PS).
Should preferably work mostly OOB with my GA-P55M-UD2 MB.
Doesn't need to be much faster/better than my current GT9400, so older cards are fine.
Any recommendations if such a card exists?
Thanks,

I've been using Server since it came out for Lion (now running ML Server on 10.8.2) and never had any issues - other than various bugs that also affect native Macs.
Using it as OD master (with an iMac as replica) to manage 3 iPhones, an iPad and 4 Macs.
Am I right assuming, that by taking the UserDSDT route with a P55M-UD2 board I should not be affected by this? There have been many reports so far of both success and failures with this board (primarily audio/USB problems), but most of the success stories so far seem to be from people using the...
Re: MultiBeast 1.1.0
I finally got Sound working (digital out over HDMI) on my GA-P55M-UD2 (rev 1.0) F8, but I had to manually install the DSDT.aml from the zip file in viewtopic.php?f=16&t=1664&start=0 - the DSDT.aml installed by GigaBeast 1.1.0 is dated March 21'st (and doesn't work for me)...
Is it realistic to hope for audio out via HDMI on my 9400GT/GA-P55M-UD2 to work - or am I beeing too optimistic ?
[Edit: should have noted that I'm about to do a complete re-install, and I wonder if I should aim for 10.6.2 or 10.6.3.]
Thanks,
