I thought I had installed the latest kexts, but it looks like there was a new whatevergreen.kext as of a few of days ago. Installed that one and both displayport and HDMI audio are working now. Thanks again for the help.

I deleted the ssdt from the patch folder and set the option for ATI graphics injection in the config.plist to NO. After a reboot, HDMI and DisplayPort audio outputs for the R9 280x card both work now. Thanks very much for your help and for your time Toleda. Much appreciated
