    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

I've reinstalled everything that I need and all my audio software that I use daily seems to be running smoothly. Some software like UAD, Sonarworks, and Little Snitch have separate Big Sur only installs. Interestingly enough, Sonarworks and Little Snitch didn't install any kexts in the L/E kext...

Attempt 3: - Restored back to Catalina - Uninstalled Little Snitch 4 - Uninstalled Apogee - Deleted ALL pro audio related kexts (AntelopeUnifiedDriver.kext, UAFWAudio.kext, Motu MIDI Driver.kext, SoundGrid.kext, UAD2System.kext, Sonarworks.Kext Result: Success! I know this doesn't provide...

You don’t need that folder anymore. Drivers64UEFI was an older clover folder structure which is not used anymore. Your Drivers > UEFI structure is correct.

Made two more attempts to upgrade to Big Sur but I still haven't succeeded. I'm in the process of restoring Catalina to my main drive to give it one more attempt. Attempt 1: Restored to Catalina, did another in-place update attempt without removing any Kext just to double check. Result: Kernel...

Good call re: Little Snitch. I have Version 5 on my laptop which is running Big Sur so I'll upgrade it on Catalina before trying the update again. Wanted to confirm that I NEED to run the EFIClone.sh script when restoring the main drive in Carbon Copy Cloner, correct?

I booted up into my Catalina back up and noticed that my main OS drive is named "Update" which leads me to believe that the update didn't complete. I'm thinking that I should just restore my main drive with Carbon Copy Cloner and try the in-place update again? Here's a screen shot of my L/E...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Good news — I successfully upgrade to OpenCore 0.6.4 / Catalina. I had been using that set up for a couple days now and it was rock solid. Bad news — I decided to push my luck a little bit and tried to upgrade to Big Sur. It went through a couple restarts and then unfortunately it hung on the...

Great, I'm thinking that I'll just try to switch to OpenCore for now and skip step 2 below! Thinking ahead, is it better to update OS's incrementally (Mojave to Catalina to Big Sur) or in the future would it be okay to go from Mojave straight to Big Sur?

Ha yes! I remember that. I believe that you were experimenting with your build in another thread and I asked you to document your journey. So glad you did! I'm definitely going to hold off on Big Sur because of software compatibility issues. I may upgrade to Catalina but also might just stay on...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Happy Holidays everyone! I've got a little bit of downtime over the holidays which has me wondering if I should scratch that tinkering itch and spend the time converting my super solid Clover Mojave system to an OpenCore system and possibly upgrade to Catalina. I've read through the OpenCore to...

Interesting. I believe Cubase 10.0.4 was when the memory leak issue started happening so versions after that and before 10.5.12 had the issue. Sounds like you are all up to date with plug-ins and cubase so I’m not sure what’s going on. I’ll get occasional project crashes when opening projects...

I’m curious... what plug-ins are you having problems with? I’m a cubase user as well and it’s been pretty smooth. The Cubase 10.5 release had a lot of issues with vst3 plug-ins and memory leaks but it seems like they’ve ironed them out on 10.5.20.

@brousseau6933 @CaseySJ Hey! I haven't had any USB problems but I also don't use USB for recording — only to control hardware, attached external drives, etc. I use a RME HDSPe MADI as my connection from converter to computer, which is a PCIe Card. I'll outline my setup below and maybe it'll...

Yes I remember seeing your early Designaire posts on another thread and then asking you to document your build. So very glad that you did! I’ve been following along quietly as a lot of the more recent developments are over my head but it’s so impressive to see how far this build has come. There...

Do you have any other DAWs installed? Are those DAWs exhibiting the same symptoms? The reason I ask is because I was experiencing something similar and it ended up being a bug specific to the latest Cubase update which was causing a memory leak and abnormal CPU consumption of certain VST3...

I'm tinkering around with integrating a Vizio V405-G9 40" 4K TV to my setup. However, I'm only able to run it at 30Hz. Is there something I'm overlooking? I searched through this thread but wasn't able to find anything conclusive. Holding Option in the display preferences doesn't bring up any...
