Let me clarify. I asked too many questions at once.
The attached files are the backup of my working EFI partition from my boot drive. I made this before I did any updating.
Here's the order of events which led to an unbootable machine.
-backup EFI partition from SSD
-Did Apple security...
This is the EFI/Clover partition less the Themes folder and no content from outside the Clover directory. This is the EFI partition from the USB stick I use to boot. I hold F12 choose USB stick and then choose to boot OS X from the SSD once Clover loads.
This EFI folder, I believe, is the same...
I've been running my 7559 Hackintosh for almost a year. I have done Apple system updates a few time. Each time after the update I have to boot with my USB Hackintosh Build from this thread. I run the Pixel Clock patch and everything works.
This time I got greedy. I did the Apple update and...
I should have stated my question more clearly. Are you getting online with your Hackintosh with the standard WiFi card that came with the 7559? I didn't think that was possible.
I don't see why you couldn't make this work by doing it all over an Ethernet connection to prove it out. But I'm...
Are you using the standard Intel based WiFi card with your Hackintosh 7559? I bought the recommended Broadcom WiFi card. It's worked very well for me and works just fine in Windows 10.

I did the iMessage patch long enough ago...
I did get iMessage working. I followed this guide. I've never had to mess with it again.

Glad I could help.
If I needed a desktop rig, I would consider a desktop Hackintosh. You have much more control over the components. You would be able to build a really strong machine for a much more reasonable price than a Mac Pro. You'd still have the Hackintosh update hassle. But it may be...
I didn't try the EmuVariable thing. I haven't been up here in a few weeks. I've been working a bunch and I'm back in school at night. I'll give this a shot and see if it works.
I've had fun with this computer, but I'm seriously considering selling it. I don't want to lose too much money on it...
I have the Dell 7559 2016 model. Dell updated this model a couple of weeks ago with a new case Nvidia 1070 GTX graphics board. They might have rev'ed the processor to Kaby Lake, too. Looks like clock speed stayed the same. I've been running this as a Hackintosh for a few weeks.
I own a MacBook...
I read the backlight guide. I tried installing ACPIBacklight as the guide suggested. My computer wouldn't boot after I installed it. I had to boot from USB and remove it to get back to where I am. I have to say there is a lot in that guide which is over my head.
I am having another problem...
I open KextWizard and checked for loaded kexts before I installed. I had IntelBacklight 1.0.8 installed. I've always had it installed.
I downloaded the newest IntelBacklight 2016-0506. I installed with KextWizard. A second or two later I saw text overlay on the lefthand side of the screen just...
Ok RehabMan. You probably thought I gave up. No way buddy! I got busy with work. Also, I didn't want to post again until I donated. I did that tonight.
I did get the Samsung EVO 850 M.2 SSD installed. I rebuilt OS X from scratch again on the M.2. I put my Windows drive in. I can now dual boot...
I appreciate all of the help RehabMan. I will do this. With the holiday over, I'm back at work. It might take a while to get this done.
I didn't say this well. What I meant was, I didn't consciously do anything to set the DVMT-prealloc. I didn't see DVMT-prealloc in Post#1. I assume the 7559...
I had thought about trying a virtual box Mac first. How well does that work? I wanted to use this computer at work. We have a very restrictive network with limited ports. Only Macs work on wifi there. Because of that I wanted to use the Broadcom wifi board and see if this computer would get on...
I'm surprised I'm using DVMT-prealloc. It must be part of the #1 thread. Or it's baked into the files I downloaded. I'm fumbling along here. I am trying to research before I ask.
I was reading more details about the Clover boot loader...
I do have an interesting issue. When I boot up and try to change the brightness setting in the system preferences > display control panel, if I move the brightness slider just slightly my backlight turns off. If I sleep my computer and wake it, brightness works as expected. The hotkeys on the...
I see a comment about it. I didn't know it was there.
Here's a chunk of my config.plist so you can see the patch. I see the patch references 10.11.4. I am running 10.11.6.
I attached my config.plist to this post.
<key>KextsToPatch</key>

I don't know what DVMT prealloc is. I didn't need to do that to get my screen working. I just did the pixel clock patch, removed the fakeID and my graphics started working. Under about this Mac it says my graphics are Intel HD Graphics 530 1536 MB.
Wow. Spot on. You were right. I didn't realize the patch would break with a security update. I do need to be careful with downloads. I repatched and now I'm running great.
One other thing, now my brightness controls work. The keyboard buttons don't work, but the slider for brightness works in...
