    I actually just ordered a HP Probook 4530 off ebay, as I'm pretty sure my Toshiba laptop is going to take more work than what a the HP cost me.

    Toshiba Satellite C55-C5241. I've not tested Sierra yet, but I suspect the usual suspects will give me issues.

    The first sticky in this forum says that Sierra is not good as a daily driver on a laptop. This thread was last updated in Sept. Is this still the case?

    Realtek ALC 3600 chipset

    I have a Dell Inspiron 3847 that's probably 2 years old. I looked at the motherboard and it has a Realteck ALC 3600 sound chip on it. I was able to take a picture of the chip and zoom in to see the number on the chip itself. This seems to jib with what I'm finding on the dell website...
