Well they say if you want something done, you've gotta do it yourself.
Just posting to let other owners of this laptop know that it's possible to install SL on it. I did it just by using the empire efi boot cd and a retail copy of SL. I can only boot in safe mode (-x) though. Networking...
I've used 3 boot CDs:
-iBoot (ATI) and Multibeast (couldn't even get to the multibeast part)
-Boot132 & a modified version of it
all in conjunction with the retail SL DVD but I'm yet to be greeted by any installation screen.
With iBoot it spends about 10 mins reading the disc then restarts...
