Well, I'm running with 16GB of ram.
My DP cable, BTW, seems to be working fine (or better) than before.
Anyway DP is needed for 60hz @ 4k: with HDMI connector I can get only 30 hz @ 4k.
Thanks @RehabMan for your guide and tips!
I've used your guide and now I'm running a Nuc6i5syh with 2 x ssd (sata+nvme) and a 27'' 4k monitor @ 60Hz on 10.13.2.
Fantastic setup. Audio is working, too.
A minor glitch: my screen is going dark for a few seconds from time to time (less than 3 times...
@RehabMan I'm not sure to understand but I've followed and used the following from you:

I wasn't clear while explaining it, sorry.
For installing and configuring my NUC I've followed the guide of this thread.
Does someone else is experiencing problems with...
Intel NUC 6i5syk here.
@RehabMan I'm using your guide for my Nuc with El Capitan and I appreciate how it works.
BTW - I don't know if anyone is experiencing problems with the "Preview" app. It gets stuck at startup, without opening a file or without opening even the app menu!
I've tried this...
Problems here with an iTunes update.
My nuc6i5syh was working fine with NvmeGeneric driver (patched via clover config). Today I accepted Appstore suggestion to upgrade iTunes!!!!
As soon as it finished my Nuc rebooted by itself (crash?) and now it keeps continuously rebooting :(
So, bootloop...
I've not been able to check TRIM while using the NVMeGeneric.kext: my disk is listed as an external one.
However, thanks to others excellent threads here in the forum, I've been able to apply an experimental patch to IONVMeFamily.kext and it works.
If anyone is interested, more info on the...
I've read the thread... there may be issues but it's not clear if the patch currently posted for Clover config.plist is affected...
Anyway... I've applied it, removed NVMeGeneric.kext and rebooted.
Now my NVMe drive 950 PRO is seen as internal on the NVMExpress Device tree.

Ok you are right :)
In his blog post - the one you are referring to - Pike says there are some clover-patches not working as expected. So I supposed the whole patch was not working
Tomorrow I'll take a closer look, but anyway the current Pike's patch is ok, right?
Thank you.
I'm on a different hardware (Inte NUC6i5syh) but using a NVME 950 PRO as a boot device (El Capitan).
It works very well with NVMeGeneric driver, but it doesn't show up in any System Report listing: how can I check in your opinion if TRIM has been enabled? I've run trimforce enable on the cmdline...
Fantastic! It works by using 0x19260002 :)
Now I can even use CompuBenchCL test and Apple Maps works perfectly!
Don't you think the main guide at post #1 needs to be updated with this info as well ?
Hi donomark ... I've the same SSD (Samsung NVME 950 PRO 512GB) ... it's working fine but my NVME drive do not show up in any section of System Report! Is the same for you?
I cannot see if the TRIM is enabled: have you checked this out ?
Thanks.
Intel NUC6i5SYH here working fine with:
- latest bios
- 2x8 GB Ram from Kingston HX421S13IBK2/16
- 1 x ssd NVME 950 Pro from Samsung as boot device
- 1 x ssd Sata 3 850 Evo from Samsung
Performances are ... wow :) Disks are super-fast!
Thank you ammulder for this excellent guide!
