    Kernel panic at USBMSC Identifier

Hi, I just installed Sierra on a Gigabyte Z170x-Gaming 5 with 6700k processor. Install went fine but now booting into the installed system I get a kernel panic at USBMSC Identifier (non-unique). There is no option in the BIOS to disable USB 3.0, and I already have XHCI handoff set to Enabled...

    Black screen at installer boot

Hi, I can boot into Clover fine but when I choose the install partition all I get is a black screen. I did have to copy the contents of the USB to a hard disk partition because the USB partition wouldn't show up in Clover. Could this be the problem? Or is it possible to use Chameleon to boot...

    USB installer not showing up

Actually I got a new mobo, and an i7-6700k. I believe it uses an asmedia SATA chip, although Clover can see the other drives just fine, not USB. I got a drive partition set up as an installer drive, but when Clover tries to boot it just gets a black screen.

I tried putting HFSPlus.efi in the folder but it still doesn't show the installer partition. It shows my old installation of Yosemite though, just not the USB installer partition.

@dungeonseeker Did you have to do anything special to get the Recon3D working? I've tried VoodooHDA 2.8.8 with no luck

    Restart at install boot

Well I tried with the legacy USB now but still restarting. Unfortunately I am unable to see the issue as it restarts before I can read it. So not sure what can be done.

    Restart at install boot

Thank you i'm making a new USB now. I'd misread that it said only 1156 boards needed that

    Restart at install boot

Ah. No, it said that was only needed for socket 1156 - this applies as well for x58?

Also I tried npci=0x2000 as I am using x58 but no luck. Would PCIRootUID help?
