I was zooming around on my high-sierra hackintosh until we updated the system without paying attention a couple of weeks ago.
After restarting it did not get further than the Gigabyte bootloader splash screen.

I set Intel Processor Graphics to "Disabled" in BIOS..
After seeing the gIOScreenLockstate briefly flash by the log-in screen takes over.
Now I could check Nvidia WEB drivers (nvda_drv=1) and the card is recognized and used.

Thanks a lot P1lgrim. I modified the config.plist as above, but it still throws the gIOScreenLockstate error at me.
Do you think I should remove the
NVWebDriverLibValFix.kext
NvidiaGraphicsFixup.kext
kexts? And the Lilu?
Your help is much appreciated.

so this means:
nv_disable=0
nvda_drv=0
or should I completely remove the nvidia kexts from EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other
i.e.
Lilu.kext
NVWebDriverLibValFix.kext
NvidiaGraphicsFixup.kext
Hi,
Had a stable build with Sierra. Problems started when I upgraded to High Sierra.
Installer failed booting with a IOConsoleUsers: GIOSCreenLockstate error.
Succeeded to install High Sierra successfully by removing my GeForce GTX970.
Afterwards tried everything in the various guides...
I choose the pre-boot options once they appeared...
Wondering if you get through the whole process.. We have the same graphics card (although from different vendor) and my build doesn't run with the card installed...

After waiting a while I finally decided to upgrade my Sierra to High Sierra as per this post.
I updated clover.
I copied the FakeSMC to /EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other/
I also placed an appleOntelE1000e.kext and the RealtekRTL8111.kext there.
