Hi Rehab,
I am on Mojave 10.14.3
Through your guides managed to get
the following working:

My discrete Nvidia in my dual GPU laptop is officialy disabled :headbang::headbang::headbang:
Hi Rehab,
I have tried a year ago to disable discrete graphics in dual-GPU:
- Toshiba Satellite Pro L50-A531
- intel core i7-4700MQ Haswell architecture
- Intel HD 4600
- Nvidia Geforce 740M (integrated NOT disabled)
- Sierra 10.12.6
- Everything is working (sleep, wake, wifi, HDMI, sound...
Pardon my ignorance ...
but how can I figure whether my laptop has a whitelist or not ... :wtf:
and if it has ... how can I rebrand an AR9280 as AR956x ... details are appreciated
Hi RehabMan,
I have Qualcomm Atheros AR956x wireless, can I rebrand it to one of the supported Atheros supported cards ?
if yes ... how ?
My system is as follows:
- Toshiba Satellite Pro L50-A531
- intel core i7-4700MQ Haswell architecture
- Intel HD 4600
- Nvidia Geforce 740M
- 8 GB RAM
-...
I have added the code "Method (_INI) { _OFF() }" under _OFF; however, when I relocated the call to spin code to _REG, got tons of errors ... could you help me relocate it safely please
Furthermore, when I used "grep -l Method.*_INI *.dsl"
It shows up in both DSDT & SSDT-8
Furthermore...
my disassembly log after fresh CLOVER F4 extraction has error:ACPI Error:
"[MPPC] Namespace lookup failure, AE_ALREADY_EXISTS (20141107/dswload-451)ACPI Exception: AE_ALREADY_EXISTS, During name lookup/catalog (20141107/psobject-305)
Could not parse external ACPI tables, AE_ALREADY_EXISTS"
I did exactly what you said ... the result is in attached origin.zip
However, when I ran patchmatic I noticed the following:
- in extract: only DSDT, SSDT, SSDT1 SSDT2, SSDT3 & SSDT4 are loaded by patchmatic
- in CLOVER/ACPI/origin: there is no (SSDT) file extracted while DSDT, and all SSDT...
Hi RehabMan
My _OFF method located in:
DSDT
My _INI method located in:
DSDT
SSDT-4
SSDT-9
However, configurations are totally different from your example
- Toshiba Satellite Pro L50-A531
- intel core i7-4700MQ Haswell architecture
- Intel HD 4600
- Nvidia Geforce 740M
- 8 GB RAM
- Clover...
Great ...that's very clear to me now
However, if you allow me
1- How do I patch your brightness codes into the methods? just Copy and paste it ?!
sorry for the dumb question
2- How can I fix the last remaining SSDT8 and make it error free errors?
3- Are wifi Qualcomm Atheros AR956x...
Thanks always for your unlimited support RehabMan ...
I have attached everything you have requested in a zipped file
One more note, I still have problem fixing errors in /CLOVER/ACPI/origin/SSDT-8.aml
Great that clears a lot of things for me.
However, I am having trouble figuring out the proper snb-platorm-id/ig-platform-id for my laptop, currently using 0x0a260006 but screen still flickers on startup and screen is too bright.
