iMac15,1 system definition on El Capitan?

Personally, I'd say if it's been working great for you, there's not a real compelling reason to change. I played with a couple system definitions back when I was trying to fix iMessage and all of the ones I tried (assuming they got me to the desktop) had similar GeekBench scores and only...

MAC APP STORE ERROR - MLB and ROM keep resetting after restart.

As a preliminary step I would go back to the same config.plist you were using before you added your MLB and ROM. At least that way you'll be able to see the desktop without using remote desktop. Then I would strongly, strongly suggest that you make all edits to your config.plist through...

[Guide] 10.11+ USB changes and solutions

RehabMan, thanks so much for the reply. I'm really grateful for all your efforts on behalf of the community. I was worried about this too, so I tested the same drive in both a USB 2 port and a USB 3 port. (I know the ports are USB 3 because their plastic is colored blue.) In the USB 2 port...

[Guide] 10.11+ USB changes and solutions

RehabMan, thanks so much for your efforts. I followed this guide today to fix my USB after the 10.11.1 update. I was fine in 10.11.0, but my Bluetooth stopped working when I upgraded to 10.11.1. My board is an Asus Z97-AR. In my BIOS, I have Intel XCHI set to Smart Auto, and EHCI Hand-off is...

    SUCCESS Dell UP2414Q 4K 60Hz on OS X 10.10.1

My UP2414Q actually died and I was fed up of dealing with this, so I traded it in for a QHD display (U2715H). Good luck to everyone who wants to stick with this.

[Fix] Intel HD4200/HD4400/HD4600 Mobile on Yosemite

Yup and yup, I was using DP and I have 64 MB allocated in the BIOS. Anyway, I don't expect any more help, since this topic and forum are clearly not about integrated and discrete graphics. If I try again I'll go to the toleda topic you posted. Thanks for replying.

[Fix] Intel HD4200/HD4400/HD4600 Mobile on Yosemite

Thanks for the link. I did get to a state where both graphics cards showed and the "No Kext Loaded" error was gone, but even though System Profiler "saw" the monitor plugged into my integrated graphics, there was no actual output. (I used VNC to look at my desktop.)

[Fix] Intel HD4200/HD4400/HD4600 Mobile on Yosemite

I'm trying to enable discrete and integrated graphics simultaneously. For discrete graphics, I have an NVIDIA GTX 760, using the nVidia web drivers. These work fine on their own. For integrated graphics, I want to use the HD4600. I installed FakePCIID_HD4600_HD4400 and FakePCIID, per post #1...

    Full resolution in Clover

In the Clover installer, did you install CsmVideoDxe-64? When I installed that I went from 1280 x 1024 at startup to 1080p.

    SUCCESS Dell UP2414Q 4K 60Hz on OS X 10.10.1

Are you still running the 343.01.02f01 web drivers, even under OS X 10.10.2? When I upgraded to OS X 10.10.2, the drivers wouldn't load, and I wasn't able to force them to load either.

    How to Fix iMessage

For two weeks, I've been using real MLB and ROM values with a generated S/N (i.e., one that returns "cannot be found in our records" at http://selfsolve.apple.com/) and haven't had any problems.

NVIDIA Releases Alternate Graphics Drivers for 10.10.2 (343.02.02)

Just chiming in to say that my 4K at 60 Hz setup stopped working with these drivers, which I was forced to install when trying to upgrade to OS X 10.10.2. I'm also rolling back to 10.10.1. See this post for all the stuff I tried.

    SUCCESS Dell UP2414Q 4K 60Hz on OS X 10.10.1

I made what I think was a pretty thorough attempt to upgrade my 4K at 60 Hz rig to work under OS X 10.10.2, but I have to report that I failed. First, since it seems like the exact NVIDIA driver version is critical to getting it to work, I tried keeping the 343.01.02f01 web drivers in place...

    SUCCESS Dell UP2414Q 4K 60Hz on OS X 10.10.1

DP 1.2 is set through the monitor's on-screen menu. Press the bottom-most soft touch button (just above the power button), then go Menu > Display Settings > DisplayPort 1.2 > Enable. Please note that I was intentionally not using the latest NVIDIA web drivers--the ones I used are here...

    SUCCESS Dell UP2414Q 4K 60Hz on OS X 10.10.1

Before you change profiles, sign out of the App Store, iTunes, and iCloud. iCloud is particularly important because otherwise you'll end up with a fake Mac signed into your iCloud account that you can't get rid of (it will auto-expire after 60 days of not being signed in). Also be prepared...

    Yosemite and 4K thread

One way to tell is by pressing the bottom soft-touch button on your Dell UP2414Q (which activates the quick-start menu), then pressing the second-to-bottom button (it will say "Menu"). The resolution and refresh rate of your monitor will show up in the bottom row of that menu.

    SUCCESS Dell UP2414Q 4K 60Hz on OS X 10.10.1

I have the same processor, monitor, video card, and drivers as the OP, and I can confirm that things worked. :-) I've been convinced by my own experience and by reading others' success stories that this can't be done with the vanilla OS X 10.10.1 drivers. However, when I used the NVIDIA web...

    Yosemite and 4K thread

After way too much of my life had passed, I finally got 4K working at 60 Hz. My config: - Dell UP2414Q - Macmini6,2 - Mac OS X 10.10.1 - NVIDIA Web Driver 343.01.02f01 - MSI GTX 760 2 GB - Clover r3113 The UP2414Q is an MST monitor. I picked it because it is on Apple's official...
