That has nothing to do with you VRAM. You havent done the patching correctly. Follow RehabMan's directions. I had the exact same issue with my VRAM.

For the cp to work properly, the file has to be accessible by the terminal. Open terminal and type cd an then drag and drop your XPS9530 folder. Also, what resolution do you have currently and how much Video memory is the OS showing in "about this mac"?

Did you get the repo from github and ran all the commands for XPS9530.sh? Are you using an external monitor/tv?

Try connecting your laptop to an external monitor or a TV using HDMI. I was having this same problem and finally got the display there.
