USB3 Mounted drives unsafely ejected on wake from sleep FIX

Certain Fresco Logic controllers are now working completely natively in 10.8.2. Not sure which controller your laptop uses. The ones that apparently work are FL1100 and FL1009. More info is available here...

USB3 Mounted drives unsafely ejected on wake from sleep FIX

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe your laptop uses the Fresco Logic USB3 chipset that is now natively supported in 10.8.2. I am using the ASMedia ASM1042 USB3 chipset, and with the Oyen Digital drivers the ejecting from sleep issue is resolved. I haven't tested with any devices fast enough...

    i7 3930K oscillation frequency

This is C1E going into effect. While the X79 chipset does not support full power management under OSX, C1E doesn't require the OS to be aware of it, and so the CPU is automatically throttling down when not in use. You can tweak BIOS/UEFI settings to change this behaviour, but your machine will...

USB3 Mounted drives unsafely ejected on wake from sleep FIX

For anyone using the modified Caldigit drivers included in multibeast but noticing that mounted drives are unsafely ejected upon wake from sleep, try the Oyen Digital drivers. They seem to perform similarly so far but do not suffer from this problem...

Doesn't sleep by itself after Mountain Lion update GA-Z68A-D3H-B3

In your org.chameleon.boot.plist, do you have darkwake=0 or darkwake=1 set? I found that in Mountain Lion you need to put darkwake=yes or darkwake=no. Or just don't have the flag in there at all, depending on your needs. This fixed auto-sleep for me. Also, your DVD drive could be preventing...

Optimized AppleHDA for Realtek ALC 898 on Lion - New

Unfortunately I still get no sound. I notice the following pattern of assertions seems to be the most frequent: 2012-08-07 11:30:07.000 PM kernel[0]: Sound assertion in AppleHDAController at line 5876 2012-08-07 11:30:07.000 PM kernel[0]: Sound assertion in AppleHDAController at line 5960...

Optimized AppleHDA for Realtek ALC 898 on Lion - New

Tried on a clean install, still no audio. I tried using the interim 898 applehda solution and it works. I compared the pinconfigs in ioreg and they are different between the working interim applehda and the optimized 10.7.4 applehda solution. Could this be the issue? If it is can I use the...

Optimized AppleHDA for Realtek ALC 898 on Lion - New

No sound. I was mainly just adjusting the volume control. Also tried iTunes and VLC but also no sound. In sound preferences when I change the volume (or the selected output) often the outputs will disappear for a second and then reappear.

Optimized AppleHDA for Realtek ALC 898 on Lion - New

Sorry for the late reply. Those should be from the same boot as the IOReg was made, but just in case I made an error I have extracted a new IOReg and copied out the sound assertions again. This is from a fresh Mountain Lion install, but I believe I am getting the same errors as when I used Lion.

Optimized AppleHDA for Realtek ALC 898 on Lion - New

Using an injected hdef with audio id 898 gives me no sound. Outputs and inputs show up under sound preferences. I get sound assertions in AppleHDAController, AppleHDAEngine, and IOHDAStream listed in the kernel log. Using the old Interim 898 method, I had sound working. Any idea why that works...

    corneredbeast's build [P9X79 PRO | 3930K | XFX 6870]

Sleep works with sleepenabler.kext. Using PXHCD.kext gives usb3 support but I believe it still has some major issues, plus it breaks sleep.

    Asus X79 Sabertooth | Core i7-3960x (Successful)

Sleep does work for the P9X79 mobos with sleepenabler as long as USB3 kexts are not installed. C1E works (because the OS doesn't need to be explicitly aware of the feature), at least with the P9X79 Deluxe, so the cores clock down to 1200Mhz when not in use. Also, even without power...

    corneredbeast's build [P9X79 PRO | 3930K | XFX 6870]

I have the deluxe with wifi and bluetooth both working with no kernel panics. Attached are the kexts I use. DeviceMergeNub fakes info so that OS X loads the correct newer firmware onto the atheros wireless card. IOath3kfrmware uploads the proper firmware to the bluetooth module.

    Sandy Bridge-E X79 Power Management (C1E) Working

Yeah, C1E is enabled in the BIOS. My system is running perfectly stable as long as I don't have Bresink Hardware Monitor + another hardware monitor monitoring any drives attached to the Asmedia ports at the same time. It's a pretty specific problem to trigger, so I doubt many people will...

    Sandy Bridge-E X79 Power Management (C1E) Working

Sorry for not being more specific, the HWMonitor I use is the one included in multibeast, not the identically named Windows program. I just tried using SMC Monitor, and by going to preferences and displaying the key "MICP" I can see it go between 12 and 42, which are my lowest and highest...

    Sandy Bridge-E X79 Power Management (C1E) Working

Hi, I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere else, but for me it seems C1E is working on my Asus P9X79 Deluxe with 3930K processor. HWMonitor shows the system clock down to its lowest state (1200Mhz) when idle, and clock back up when in use. Also the reported voltages adjust along with the...
