The manual from ASUS shows the green (lime) port is front speakers. The black is rear speakers. Windows correctly uses the green (lime) port as front audio. Even the speakers I use agrees with ASUS, they are color coded. The speaker plug is green.
I dual boot so I need audio to work on the green (front audio) connector but it's coming out the black (rear audio) connector. I tried configuring the Win 10 box to work out the black (rear audio) but could not get working.
I use Multibeast with High Sierrra to insert the audio for ALC892.
No issue googling it, I had to learn how to do some of that anyways. Most confusing part was not being able to find the EFI directory, didn't realize that was a different partition that had to mounted. Once I got that it was not too bad.
Quick question if I change monitors, will it easily...
Thank you for your excellent details. It took me a while to google how to do all that but I have it booting now from my SSD with the Intel graphics which so far seem good. I may not even bother with the 550 Ti card.
