[solved] Intel UHD620 Graphics on High Sierra

Hey again, I've successfully patched the BIOS to use 128MB DVMT-prealloc. I also changed the "max-alloc" variable as suggested here (https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-dell-xps-13-9360-on-macos-sierra-10-12-x-lts-long-term-support-guide.213141/page-124#post-1562389). There are no more...

[solved] Intel UHD620 Graphics on High Sierra

My DVMT is set to 128MB (As reported by Windows 10) EDIT: I just re-read the FAQ, missed this obvious warning: (https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/faq-read-first-laptop-frequent-questions.164990/#post-1045259) IMPORTANT!: Contrary to many of the guides you will read, Windows is NOT a valid...

[solved] Intel UHD620 Graphics on High Sierra

Hey RehabMan, Thanks for the quick reply, glad to see you're still posting :) I changed the FakeID to 0x59168086, and kept the platform-id as 0x59160000, but now I get a kernel panic when trying to boot. I attached the picture below. (Edit: Sorry for the hard to read text, its more legible...

[Guide] Install 10.11 on Asus X555L Laptop with Clover UEFI

Its all confusing at first (everything in the world is), but stick with it and you'll figure it out.

    sleep problems El capitan

Applying the DSDT fix and also applying the USB patch fixes this problem!:D sidenote: is applying patches multiple times bad for the DSDT?

    sleep problems El capitan

I also seem to have this issue, however it doesn't always happen. In the Console, my wake reason seems to be "Wake reason: EHC2 XHC", USB related? I never had this issue on a previous install of 10.11, perhaps I missed a DSDT patch for my USB... I will try to apply a patch and see if it fixes...

    Problem with ALC233 and Headphones/Microphone

Problem solved!! :D:D:D I started with Mirone's kext, then figured out which "[Fixed] Microphone" was actually the right pin. Only things I had to change were my patched codec commands from linux and change the incorrect pin numbers. In case anyone else is looking for a kext that works with...

    Problem with ALC233 and Headphones/Microphone

It did not, however my attempts to add the node proved futile, and renders the whole kext useless... Feeling like i've hit a brickwall :banghead:

    Problem with ALC233 and Headphones/Microphone

Sorry, what relevant information would one need to find the issue? Also, can I add a child property to my plist for the Mic?

    Problem with ALC233 and Headphones/Microphone

RehabMan, can you point me in the right direction with this? I'm trying to follow the guide but it seems the images the guide depends on are missing from the guide. I think the reason my microphone doesnt work is due to the pin not existing in Platforms.xml, but i'm not sure. (please see...

    Problem with ALC233 and Headphones/Microphone

I find that your guides lack images which strangely contributes to how clear they are. As for the HDA Spec, i'll definitely look into that. wish me luck

    Problem with ALC233 and Headphones/Microphone

Hmm. I am using Mirones ALC233 kext. I also used AppleHDAPatcher to try and generate one for my system. I tried following Mirones guide to patching your own AppleHDA.kext, however I get very stuck after converting my linux dumps. You should consider writing a guide for it, always easy to...

    Problem with ALC233 and Headphones/Microphone

Thanks for replying! I installed the kext you provided, and headphones sound great now, however I did notice one thing: If I listen to a song with headphones, then un-plug and plug them back in, audio is garbage, however entering sleep and waking fixes this problem. Internal and External...

[Guide] Install 10.11 on Asus X555L Laptop with Clover UEFI

Everything is working fine so far except the following: -HDMI -Headphones -Internal Mic I am going to rewrite this guide when I get chance to, in hind-sight it is pretty poorly written and I missed important stuff out that I discovered afterwards. Please tell me how your install went and best...

    Problem with ALC233 and Headphones/Microphone

Hi, My laptop (Asus X555LA) has the ALC233 audio codec. To get this somewhat working, I applied the audio layout "3" to my DSDT and installed a patched AppleHDA for my device, however the only thing that works well is the internal speakers. Headphones sound very noisy and distorted, and the...

[Guide] Install 10.11 on Asus X555L Laptop with Clover UEFI

Installing OS X El Capitan on an ASUS X555LA This guide covers installing OS X El Capitan on an ASUS X555LA Laptop. This guide features sections (like DSDT patching) that will likely ONLY work with the Asus X555L Laptops. Credit goes to RehabMan for his version of MaciASL and the kexts we...

    Backlight on ASUS X555L Issues

Thanks for the pointers. I Dropped the OEM SSDTs, added a loading order, however my brightness slider still does nothing. It has however changed the icon in Display Settings from a standard screen to the image of a MacBook, and when I disable my screen via hotkey (FN+F7 for me) a little pop up...
