[Guide] HackrNVMeFamily co-existence with IONVMeFamily using class-code spoof

Thanks for all the guidance RehabMan, my quest for two NVME drives at the same time has been a success! Here were the steps it took to get my Intel P3500 functioning. 1) Throw the drive in a Windows machine. 2) Install the Intel NVMe driver (don't use the Microsoft one!) 3) Install the Intel...

[Guide] HackrNVMeFamily co-existence with IONVMeFamily using class-code spoof

Thanks RehabMan, I can't upgrade to High Sierra until all the software I use is updated and validated for the OS (sadly). I recall reading on the other hackintosh site that there was some discussion about changing the LBA for the drives. I'm fairly certain that I can do that on the Intel SSD...

[Guide] HackrNVMeFamily co-existence with IONVMeFamily using class-code spoof

Thanks for the response RehabMan. I've used the gen_debug.sh tool after using F2/F4 to dump my clover info. debug_25241.zip was generated WITHOUT the nvme-ssdt being patched and debug_20505.zip was generated with the nvme-ssdt patched. Thank you so much for the assistance.

[Guide] HackrNVMeFamily co-existence with IONVMeFamily using class-code spoof

RehabMan, your guide is amazing! Using your spoofed method, I have my x99 build booting off a new Samsung 960 Evo! I have a question regarding using a second NVMe drive though. First let me detail a few things out. Hardware: x99eWS/USB3.1 5960x GTX 960 in PCIe_3 Samsung 960 Evo in M.2 Slot...

Revert to 32xx clover rather than 33xx clover. I had the same issue till I went back to an older version.

My firewire card does this. About 60% of the time I have no firewire. I just reboot until it works. I'm currently using the FW kexts from 10.9.5 provided by thenightflyer earlier in this thread. I wish it worked all the time though. Any ideas guys?

    5960x - Titan X - 2x Samsung 4k - Asus X99-E WS - Clover - EFI - SM951

I have a small update on this: 1) The issue only seems to happen in ProTools. Digital Performer has been fine all afternoon. I'll have more data on this as times goes on. 2) I've purchased another SSD and I'm going to try another install. Thank you guys for your time and suggestions so far...

    5960x - Titan X - 2x Samsung 4k - Asus X99-E WS - Clover - EFI - SM951

Prior to building this Hackintosh, I was running ProTools v9 on my Mac Pro (5,1). This Hackintosh has forced me to upgrade ProTools to v12, because I'm running 10.10.5. Interestingly, I can't get ProTools to see my 003 Rack (legit pro-tools hardware), but it sees my MOTU 424 card just fine...

Yes, I am overclocking. 4.3GHz with RAM at 2400MHz. I ran CPUTest for an hour with no issues to stress test my overclock. I've started stripping the system down to see if it continues having issues. First I pulled the NVME Drive, and started working off an SSD, now I'm going to pull...

@thenightflyer You use your hackintosh for audio work, yes? I'm having terrible stability issues, upward of 1-2 crashes per hour using Digital Performer and ProTools. The system will literally just restart. Opening and closing files seems to cause most of these to occur, but today I just had...

    5960x - Titan X - 2x Samsung 4k - Asus X99-E WS - Clover - EFI - SM951

I just tried this exact setup. With Above 4G Encoding enabled, my system reboots on its own before getting to desktop. Using the debug=0x100 flag to force it to pause rather than rebooting shows that it crashes on whatever happens after [ PCI configuration end, bridges 16, devices 21 ]. With...

So are you using OsxAptioFixDrv-64.efi as modified by rbbunmc + test2.efi from nickwoodhams's website? I'll have to try again with Above 4G Decoding with that configuration...

OS X Driver for NVMe M.2 Solid State Drives Released

Yes, but it installs it to the wrong place /EFI/CLOVER/drivers64 and you want it in /EFI/CLOVER/drivers64UEFI. I simply made a copy of it to my desk top, and then put it in the proper folder. I found that booting with Above 4G Encoding set to enable, and that gets me farther, but the system...

OS X Driver for NVMe M.2 Solid State Drives Released

I'm currently trying to get Yosemite booting from an NVME drive. Hardware: Asus x99e-ws/USB3.1 5960x GTX 960 Thunderbolt EXII Samsung sm951 nvme version Software: Yosemite 10.10.5 NVME driver is in S/L/E on my current boot ssd. NVME driver is also in /EFI/CLOVER/kexts/10.10 folder on the EFI...

So this is basically the same issue I'm running into (although, I'm trying to get the system to boot off an NVME drive). This issue gets discussed quite a bit here: http://sourceforge.net/p/cloverefiboot/tickets/125/?page=0 To save you the time of reading a few hundred posts, I'll summarize...

This sounds like it might be a memory allocation error. When you boot with -v as a clover option, where does it hang? Here perhaps? OsxAptioFixDrv: AllocateRelocBlock(): can not allocate relocation block (0x16687 pages below 0x100000000)

    5960x - Titan X - 2x Samsung 4k - Asus X99-E WS - Clover - EFI - SM951

@thenightflyer With further testing, this issue is very inconsistent. Out of ten boot cycles, Firewire was just "gone" on 4 of them. The other 6, it worked just fine. Thankfully, my Motu 424 card seems to work fine, sees my 2408mk III and my 2408mk II. Also, I'm pleased to find that the...

    5960x - Titan X - 2x Samsung 4k - Asus X99-E WS - Clover - EFI - SM951

This seems like you're not following the guide as set forth by rbbunmc at all. I've got the exact MOBO and Bios you've got though so I'll bite. Above 4G Decoding is set to Disable. I'm pretty sure the Thunderbolt EXII/Dual is not supported by the Asus x99-e WS/USB3.1 I specifically purchased...
