    Finally time to upgrade!

Evening folks, this current hardware really does owe me nothing but recently been having issues turning on and waking from sleep so it's finally time to think about new hardware. Is there such as thing as the "Most compatible hardware", is it still the motherboard that is the most important...

Realtek ALC898 "Auto sensing" too sensitive?

I am currently using Clover with a DSDT created by PJALM patches (the hardware is also pretty new) and a patched AppleHDA.kext. My Z77X-UD5H is a Rev:1.1 and the speakers are connected to the green port at the rear. When playing back audio intermittently the type jumps from "Built-in" to...

Can someone check this iCloud issue for me please?

Using the new document storage feature in iCloud I have just noticed the icons for the different document types are blank, surely Apple wouldn't have designed it like this? Could someone please check their System Preferences > iCloud > Manage section for me to see how it looks?

Enable Location Services - Cannot Tick Box?

Could someone please check on their hack if the "Enable Location Services" box can be ticked (Once the padlock has been unlocked of course)? If not, is this maybe a limitation of a hackintosh system?

    Optimal SMBIOS.plist for my hardware?

Having got Lion up and running I wondered why it thought I had a MacBook Pro which obviously is handled by SMBIOS.plist. I seem to remember reading on here (I think ), a post where different settings in the SMBIOS.plist were tested which helped you choose the best one for your hardware...

Double tap to keep awake, a feature of Lion?

Hi folks, Lion is running sweet but I just wondered if this "new" double press I have to do of the Trackpad or Magic Mouse to keep the OS awake (One press wakes it but it goes back to sleep straight away without the monitor coming on) is a feature of Lion in general or a Hackintosh glitch?

    Optical Drive addition...

The Sony AD-7260S 24x /RAM Drive AD-7260S-0B seems to be the recommended Optical Drive which I can source locally for £14.95 this morning. Does anyone see a problem with one of these drives and the hardware in my sig? If I was to consider a BD-RW drive instead what would you folks recommended...

SSD update for my system (Spec in Sig)...

Hi folks, it's birthday time again and I have been thinking about an SSD upgrade for a while. How does something like the OCZ Vertex 2E 240GB 2.5" SATA-II Solid State Hard Drive (OCZSSD2-2VTXE240G) sound for my current system (I would also install TRIM Enabler)? I assume I could just restore...

How does Mac OS X handle USB ports / drivers?

Does anyone know if Mac is different to Windows in the way it handles USB devices (I assume it is)? For example, if you were to plug the same USB device in four different USB ports when running Windows it would "install" itself four times, can someone please maybe explain how a Mac handles...

    Folder Sync to Backup HD?

Ok, so I have Time Machine enabled and working well but I also need a single folder (& sub folders) on another HD backed up and kept in sync on the same external HD. From what I can see with Time Machine I can only add or remove complete HD's, do any of these other software solutions allow you...
