Hi Nightflyer,
I needed to update to 10.10.5, but since the update my FW devices are only recognized if they're turned on before the hackintosh. I already tried to re-install the Mavericks kexts but it didn't change anything. Do you know how I can solve this ?
Hey !
We got the same FW card. Since I'm on 10.10.5, the FW devices are only recognized if they're turned on before I start the Hackintosh. With 10.10.4 I didn't have to do that. Did you find a solution ?
Nope. Well, in fact I don't know; that's weird. A few weeks ago I worked all day on y hack. And the next day it didn't start as usual: no display, no fan working except for the CPU. I made some tests with my reseller (we switched nearly all components from a working PC) and it showed that it...
I'm a sound engineer in fact (but musician too ;)).
Thanks for those explanations! I found all those kexts in Mavericks. Unfortunately, I can't try to install them now because my MB broke down and I'm waiting for it to be repaired... Can't wait to try ! I was about to sell my FF800 for a USB...
Hi Nightflyer,
We have the same Firewire card, and it's driving me nuts for a while because I can't make it work under 10.10.4 (it works fine with Win 7). I also need FW for my Fireface 800. Could you send me the kext you extracted or tell me how to do it ? My Macbook Pro is under Maverick...
Hi,
I bought two FW cards (Startech PEX1394B3 and Sunix FWB3414G) but none of them is recognized under 10.10.4, although they work well with Win7. Do you think my SMBios could be the reason ? Im on Mac Pro 6.1
Thanks for your help!
It boots !! Clover was updated between the download on my MacBook Pro and my install PC, so I didn't have the same version. Once I updated the old one and retried, the boot happened without any problem. I'm now running MacPro 6,1 and everything's fine! Thanks for your patience rbbunmc!

The number of cpus vary on every boot fail from 0 to 10. But I checked the voodootsc's: the one used in the Unibeast stick was suitable for my processor, but the one in the EFI-post-install USB wasn't. I changed that, then copied the folder in the EFI partition, but still no boot unfortunately...
I double-checked those steps. Then I tried (on purpose) to install Clover on the SSD without replacing the EFI folder as mentioned in the process. The boot fails exactly the same way, and all you say makes sense, so the error must be near. But I can't figure out what's wrong. I'll have a look...
I can't boot from the SSD with debug=0x14e or even -x -f -v nv_disable=1 npci=0x2000 kext-dev-mode=1...
No problem to boot from the USB, but all the boxes on Kext Wizard are greyed so impossible to repair permissions (neither in disk utility).
Ethernet works now: AppleIntelE1000e.kext is the...
Hi guys,
I made a new try, but I faced the same problem with the NVIDIA web drivers. So I guessed the problem came from somewhere else. Had a look at the bios changes I made to have a default configuration (see pics below), and it reminded me I disabled the Serial Port for another installation...
Hi guys,
@shlndr: I'm not sure your problem comes from 10.10.5; I'm on 10.10.4 and it looks like our problems are similar
I've got the same problem with the NVIDIA drivers. Actually the web drivers install correctly (according to the installer), but CUDA doesn't (everything seems fine during...
Solving NVIDIA driver install problems
Sorry Slim.jim, I think I was not precise enough. By telling it's my first build, I meant I'm building it, not updating the OS... Sorry for that.
The GPU works fine with Windows 7 Ultimate on another SSD.
Should I focus on finding a way to boot with...
Solving NVIDIA driver install problems
I just saw your post, and I was wondering if you found a solution to boot normally with the web drivers working properly.
I have almost the same config as yours (OSX 10.10.4, same CPU, ASUS X99 Pro-3.1, MSI GTX 960) and I encounter exactly the same...
