    [Guide] Patching LAPTOP DSDT/SSDTs

Oh no! If I am compatible with 10.11, I will have to find an alternative to this then? Or is the fix simple?

    [Guide] Patching LAPTOP DSDT/SSDTs

I have followed your instructions, but I assure you I have changed nothing related to SSDT and DSDT since my last post... that is why it so odd. Here is the new zip.

    [Guide] Patching LAPTOP DSDT/SSDTs

Oddly not! Today the brightness slider is working! I have not changed anything [it is identical as in the zip] I did not even go into sleep! (I can't yet, I will have to fix that next. Right now it just shuts down on wakeup). It is very odd that it started working so suddenly!

    [Guide] Patching LAPTOP DSDT/SSDTs

That is the guide I followed, and I had to do a bit of my own editing to get rid of some errors. I guess I messed up somewhere.

    [Guide] Patching LAPTOP DSDT/SSDTs

Everything great over here except for backlight control. On startup I get the "ACPIBacklight Panel not found... aborting." The slider is now in my settings, however no actual control. I got the battery to display and I believe I disabled my discrete GPU. How can I check for sure that it is...

Wow. So sorry! I read over the Saving files for loading by the boot loader section twice! :banghead:

[Guide] How to patch DSDT for working battery status

This is an extremely noob question but I need to be 100% sure I am actually APPLYING the patches to my system. Open MaciASL > Goto Patches > Apply Laptop Patch Click Compile. That is it correct? Or do I need to save the AML file somewhere on the system?

Wireless USB Adapters on Yosemite Hackintosh?

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I read in the FAQ about replacing cards. I happened to find an old NETGEAR WG111v3 [NGR-WG111v3 (8)] and found it had software for OS X 10.5. Upon installing and rebooting no luck, nothing is recognized. I was wondering if it is possible to get this or...

Installing Yosemite on HP Envy DV7

Ethernet working! :) [Wifi not compatible, but hey, I am satisfied with ethernet, at least I have internet access!] This is my first time typing on OS X! Unfortunately I guess I spoke too soon about the 'power off' issue. I noticed battery is not shown and if I tick it, it turns off instantly...

Installing Yosemite on HP Envy DV7

Success! install went smooth, and now just successfully booted! shutdown works perfectly now too! now I just need to look into Ethernet/ (or wifi if it is supported, but I don't think so) Thanks again! No more Disabler.kext :D

Installing Yosemite on HP Envy DV7

I took your advice and started from the beginning. I changed NOTHING in the config (before I had boot args that possibly causes the issue) and only grabbed the 3 essential kexts. This time however, I also grabbed the HPRAIDInjector.kext (just to verify).

Installing Yosemite on HP Envy DV7

I compared the panic to the photo I took earlier, it is exactly the same, no difference in text anywhere. And yes, I am using "space bar" then "...without caches"

Installing Yosemite on HP Envy DV7

Not sure if it matters but I am using a plist editor in windows. anyway, booting without caches same panic. without caches and injected same result.

Installing Yosemite on HP Envy DV7

That is odd because I used your config_HD4000_1600x900 From "OS-X-Clover-Laptop-Config-master.zip" also still kernel panic after changing value to true Inside ZIP is "2b25f9fa2b0034ebcccdb8db8247f8762982091a" Edit: just checked, default fresh config ^ Default from GIT

 nice! My mistake, thank you for help!

Installing Yosemite on HP Envy DV7

I found that disabler.kext is the one needed to boot... without it this panic happens.

Installing Yosemite on HP Envy DV7

Thank you for all the help and I hope to resolve the rest of my issues on my own. However removing the four kexts above causes a kernel panic on boot. I will try to find why. edit: I ended up leaving all the kexts except for the conflicting AppleACPIPS2Nub.kext. mouse and keyboard now work! on...

Installing Yosemite on HP Envy DV7

Done. Some side things I will look into after trackpad/keyboard is working: -"shutdown" results in black screen, no shutdown - After install windows is oddly slow, possibly related to: - RAID config shows up on boot, despite no RAID - Ethernet config results in an error on MAC, I think I never...

Installing Yosemite on HP Envy DV7

Yes, I meant trackpad, misuse of words, sorry. I followed your Laptop Yosemite guide and used your personal kexts (the three). http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-laptop-support/148093-guide-booting-os-x-installer-laptops-clover.html i am using Clover and copied the kext to EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other...
