Got the new crucial low profile chips today and installed. Happened again.
Seems like when i install 32 GB ram it happens. 16 GB is fine.
I booted with boot flag "-no-zp" and it cleared it all up.
How do i fix this issue? Is there a patch or Kext i need to update/modify? Or simple add the...
Came FAST!
Works like a charm.
Simply installed it, repaired all my bluetooth connections (works way better than the Logitec USB Bluetooth) and airdrop works.
Just got it today and IT WORKS! WAHOO!
One thing i noticed that might help anyone looking... Set the Airdrop settings in your Airdrop folder to EVERYONE:
Thanks for the reply! I tested the memory and it all tested fine. Before i got into more boot flags i decided to remove a pair of 8GB chips and boot.
Turns out that the low profile and regular Crucial Ballistix chips are not compatible (or unhappy together) despite Crucial's 100% compatibility...
1st time with a CustoMac! Working on installing all the software on my new build and am running across some problems.
Here is the build:
Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD7 TH
Intel Core i7-4790K @ 4GHZ
ARCTIC Freezer i30 Extreme CPU Cooler
Corsair Carbide Series Black 500R
Corsair RM Series 850 Watt...
I just ordered one of these based on a few reviews on successful AirDrop on CustoMac: http://www.ebay.com/itm/191392971578
Shipping from China - 2-3 weeks. Will let you know if it works.
Just installed a wifi card TP-LINK N900 exclusively for the Airdrop. No luck getting it to work. I will keep looking and update if i find anything.
Airport works, bluetooth works, no airdrop.
Good idea. Any reason I would not want to do that in regards to performance. Was reading that -f disables more than just KernalCache (it must as i have tried disabling that on its own)
Thanks for the help!
Accidentally posted this in the wrong area. Thanks to tonymacx86 for moving it here :D
Anyone had success fixing this PCI error? -f boot flag is not terrible, but would be nice to power up and get to desktop
Hey there. Just had the same thing happen. You trying to install with the PCI graphics card? If so, remove it and run off the Intel graphics on the CPU.
That got me through the install, then i disabled the onboard graphics in BIOS and installed the NVIDIA card.
Not sure I can call it progress, but have some more information.
I have reinstalled 10.10.3 a dozen times now to see if I can get this to work. The last try was the most successful.
Did the complete install with the Graphics Card REMOVED. Had BIOS setup to allow onboard graphics to work...
OK, so I got inpatient and reinstalled 10.10.3
back to the same place... need -f to load.
I installed the NVIDIA drivers to see if that was the issue. Was not.
I did notice that if i remove the graphics card, it will load. (disabled the onboard graphics in BIOS)
Any thoughts? Thanks!
