If you'd be so kind, I'd love a PM to that link too... I just can't get it to work, even with the DSDT edits in the guide (and no one has replied to my thread with suggestions). A magical kext to do all the work for me would be lovely.

The thing is, I'm actually using a monitor with an 1/8" jack on it that's connected to a set of speakers I have. The problem is that the output device isn't showing up in System Preferences at all.

I'm getting comfortable with my Yosemite installation and I'm now noticing I can't get sound through HDMI (the option doesn't seem to appear in System Preferences), though the internal jacks work fine. I made a DSDT edit from one of the guide PDFs, but it didn't seem to do anything. What way...
