I put in a radeon 5450 but it still crashes and I can't boot on the USB either. Do I need to deactivate the onboard gfx somehow? Maybe some kind of safe mode boot?

I have the same problem, well sort of. I get the kernel panic but now I can´t even boot from the USB anymore. Any ideas?

When you say OOB, do you mean my components + the graphics card you suggested or do you just mean the card you suggested? ;)

I´ve read on a few threads here that some people are having problems with HDMI port and they don´t get any sound from it. Is this something I have to worry about?
