I have my graphics back after replacing the config.plist and I ran the command in terminal. I did have to reinstall the nvidia drivers again for it to see my card though. :)
Sorry had to run out and wasn't able to do this till now. Yeah, whenever you can get to it. I am probably going to leave for home soon. I am so tired. Might have a bite to eat first so might be here an hour or so more, yes west coast time. :)
I have completed the iMessage guide. Do I start over from the beginning and generate new serials, etc.? I have managed to mess this up pretty bad at this point and I am so tired...
The machine is no longer seeing my GFX card...
How do I get it back?
I have to use nv_disable=1 to see anything when I boot so maybe that's it but I don't know how to fix the problem
I had audio working, somehow with display port. My monitor has built in speakers and they were working without an audio cable. does audio go through display port? seems weird. I don't know if I want to edit config.plist just this minute if you are not sure it will work.
I am so over working on...
I plugged monitor in to an HDMI and it booted. I a guess it WAS booting but not recognizing GFX. I screwed up the video drivers somehow, I guess. I was on DisplayPort. I am not sure how to fix that now? I used nv_disable=1 in clover to boot with. Doesn't seem to work with DisplayPort here...
It goes by fast and then just goes blank. I'm getting ready to reinstall osx but I don't know if that will help? if I erase the disk and reinstall, will that the fix that problem? I picked imac 17,1 because that was the only choice with "skylake" on the definition list
I guess I missed that.
I did tell her not to update. iMessage seems to be working. I forgot to check iCloud. I will do that tomorrow. I am currently backing up to the 2GB HDD I installed until I can get her airport extreme working. I believe I have to connect it with a LAN cable to get it...
I have a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard. they are from my sisters old imac that died a couple months ago, the reason I told her I would build her one, so she didn't have to keep spending $2k every 2 or 3 years for a new machine. ;)
I downloaded just before the install. I realized something and don't know if it makes a difference but the first time I made the install USB, I did it from a macbook with Yosemite on it. Then, if you remember, the second time I downloaded it, my sister installed El Capitan to her macbook. I...
scratch that. bluetooth came up after pulling and putting dongle back in. Not connecting to keyboard or mouse yet. Gonna try new batteries and a restart/
okay, did all that. Still no bluetooth but that's ok. I am not sure exactly what I just did is supposed to do but I'll take your word for it.
Thanks, man. Not a lot of people would take this much time to help out a stranger. You're a good man! :)
