i think i found the solution, need to try it tonight. The format was irrelevant, disk utility wasn’t able to erase anything. I couldn’t even force unmount in terminal. https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/solved-disk-i-o-error-with-high-sierra.236300/

On a side note, i’m now having a problem where the installer won’t/can’t format my ssd. It says it can’t write to the last block. But i take it to my windows pc with paragon HFS+ and i am able to format it with no problem. What the hell is going on

Guys, i have an x58a-ud3r rev 2.0. Reporting success by replacing AppleHDA and AppleACPIPlatform before boot. Really weird spotlight issues though... I think i am having the same problem as referenced in this post... Spotlight won't find applications and re-indexes all the time...
