OK!! I've done it!! Audio works and sounds fantastic
I've also managed to flash my BIOS using this guide: http://forum.techinferno.com/lenovo-ibm/4668-lenovo-y410p-y510p-unlocked-bios-wlan-whitelist-mod-vbios-mod.html
Installed the the new card...
Ok so should I have all of my SSDT's in my extra even though some of them refer to my Nvidia hardware I can't use? (attached files: NewDumpie.zip)
EDIT: Also I am unable to apply IRQ Fix after Audio Layout ID.. does this mean it isn't necessary?
I referred back to posts 18, 19, and 20 before I posted. I was able to do this once before. I open the resulting .dsl file in MaciASL and it hs 0 errors. I apply layout id patch and change to corresponding layout id.. compile: 0 errors. Save as .aml
I reopen that .aml in MaciASL.. Compile: 201...
Ok so here's a few updates from this project..
I ordered Azurewave AW-CE123H from amazon..
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HRFS1GQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
And to my surprise (not) Lenovo's BIOS won't accept it.. even Lenovo's support page refers to this card as being...
Alright here it is... compiled with few errors (name already exits in scope). I remove lines but it doesn't fix the problem..
Found a patched AppleHDA.kext, HDAEnabler for ALC282
Installed and applied audio layout 12
changed layout id to the layout id found in AppleHDAHardwareConfigDriver...
Here are the resulting files (attached).. I opened DSDT.dsl in MaciASL and clicked compile to find one error... I'm not sure how to implement other SSDT files or if I even need to. Error says: "Result is not used, operator has no effect"
I really appreciate your help as always
And when I did this I got "command not found".
I'm really trying hard to understand but I'm not following. I guess I need to look around for a detailed guide on this because I'm not getting anywhere.
I found a patched AppleHDA.kext for ALC282 and I will be applying later this evening (using your patches). I want to be able to get a full disassembly of my DSDT before I do this correct?
I did download the iasl you provided. All I did was run it and it completed a process via terminal. This...
This is what I've done so far..
-copied all dsdt/ssdt from linux (/sys/firmware/acpi/tables) to OS X desktop
-collected dumps from all codecs in linux and converted to decimal (Realtek ALC282 see attached)
-able to find the layout id of AppleHDA.kext
-Went to MaciASL>Prefrences>Compiler...
Ok so I'm going to boot into a linux environment later to get the dump. I missed this step completely. As far as gathering all of the DSDT/SSDT into a single directory, is there a specific directory or do I just make my own (like a new folder on my desktop?) Also am I supposed to stay in a Linux...
I could only save as disassembled... Thanks for your help.
Am I able to show package content in AppleHDAHardwareConfigDriver.kext and view my codec that way? or is there a way to find it in the dsdt thru maciASL? i feel like a total n00b lol
How exactly could I do that? I've downloaded your latest version of MaciASL and setup the "Laptop Patches" source. When I hit compile I was met with 201 errors 0 warnings 8 remarks 44 and optimizations. I don't know the first thing about fixing these errors or patching dsdt.
I will do a bit...
Thanks for the swift reply and all the help RehabMan!!! :headbang:
I still don't have audio...
tried the AppleHDA.kext from: http://www.tonymacx86.com/mavericks-laptop-support/112575-10-9-lenovo-y510p.html
and I tried the VoodooHDA.kext from...
