Clover HDMI audio for NVIDIA & AMD cards. Easy way.

Wow fantastic post. I suspect like a lot of people that don't do IT for a living this is probably going to be the first issue you have after a successful build (as did i). I tried to follow the official post, but found it very hard to understand. This is very straight forward and makes sense...

Thanks got it working perfect on screen. Just one other issue now! I have sound going from the graphics card to the screen? Any ideas why? I'm using an HDMI cable. Managed to fix the HDMI Audio issue. Now a happy convert :-)

Gigabyte NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 3GB Display Problems with El Capitan

Thanks for the response. I'll give the overscan a try thanks. So I just need to sort the correct driver now for the graphics card. Any ideas? Dont worry the plasma isn't for use as a full time screen. It's my second cinema room :-) ( I spend a lot of time over on www.avforums.com ) the G5...

Gigabyte NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 3GB Display Problems with El Capitan

Hi i wonder if anyone can help. I managed to get my build up and running last night using the latest install of El Capitan without any issues (even my four sticks of ram worked this time). My system recognises my graphics card without issue, but I'm wondering if I need to install additional...

    Powermac G5 conversions 'Hal'

She lives! After a long break playing around with other machines, I finally have this one up and running perfectly (almost). Thanks to the latest version of clover and El Capitan. My only issue is that the Blu Ray drive I purchased is snagging at the top and won't come out of the slot. I'll...

no updates for a while as Corsair has had issues with ethe H110i GT. They have basically recalled all of the stock because of manufacturing issues :-/ the new updated replacement won't surface until late June!!! So in the meantime I've gone back to a stock cooler. This means updates on my NAS...

Apple Mac G5 UnRaid NAS Build

Whilst I had server stripped down I also decided to swap the Corsair RM750 for a Corsair HX850i as I got a great deal and I might make use of the Corsair Link software for controlling fans, temperature and LEDs. I then started pulling the rest of it together. Thats as as far as I've gotten...

Apple Mac G5 UnRaid NAS Build

Next up I attached the new backplate. You can clearly see it's the PSU up top backplate but the exhaust fan is higher up. With the backplate attached I began assembling the other components. The motherboard tray has the space under it cut out for SSD's should I need them in the future. But in...

Apple Mac G5 UnRaid NAS Build

So my nice new parts arrived from the Laser Hive. I've had a one off back plate and tray made that will allow me to place the PSU up top AND keep the extended apple PSU case in the bottom. To do the David very kindly created a modified kit that allows me to move the mATX board down slightly...

    Zut's 'New' Project - G5 Case Mode/ATX/Hackintosh - Recommendation wanted

Yep it's a 280mm radiator with two fans AF140 at the front and two AF140's on the back. It's the Corsair H110 radiator that has unfortunately sprung a leak so I'm waiting for a H110i GT to turn up :-) its super quiet and cold. I have to close the side door as it freezes my leg!

    Zut's 'New' Project - G5 Case Mode/ATX/Hackintosh - Recommendation wanted

Take a look at the laser hive front radiator panel on my build. It looks great and works really well. You could then mount a smaller radiator on the back plate.

Apple Mac G5 UnRaid NAS Build

With my shortened PSU ready to go I attached it to the full size Apple PSU to create an extra long version. I've used the front fan holes to enable me to tighten them together and for a rigid XL PSU case. This is secured using the apple screws from below to remain as factory 'stock' as...

Apple Mac G5 UnRaid NAS Build

Now it was time to turn to scribed and cut down Apple PSU into a shorter unit. To do this I clamped it down and bent the metal into place by hand around a round a wooden block to form both edges. For anybody attempting to do this in the future make sure you remove half of the material which will...

'Rain stops play' I managed to get the installer up and running perfectly at long last. Install was taking place when I noticed a little leak. The Corsair H110 decided to leak from the pump head on to the bottom of the case. Luckily the leak only just touched the red anodised cover and didn't...

Apple Mac G5 UnRaid NAS Build

So back to the NAS build. Now that the 'work' machine is almost complete (blu Ray, cabling, clear window to finish), my attention has shifted back to the NAS. As you can see I've lengthened the case so I needed to add the extra length back into the case. This will take the form of a standard...

I Took out one bank of ram and that didn't work. I then took out the graphics card and we have success! Now do I add the drivers in the normal Mac way?

Wth everything in place I took the brave step of firing it up for the first time. Having never built a PC it was a scary moment - but luckily no pops or bangs occurred! :-) I prepared my copy of Yosemite and Unibeast using the great guide on the forum. I entered the Bios screen and changed all...

Over the Christmas break I managed to pick up a secondhand Gigabyte GeForce GTX 780 Windforce OC for a great price. I know it's not on the list of components that won't cause an issue, but it was a good deal so I took the risk. i then added this to the case and the extra cables it requires...
