Monterey with NVIDIA graphic cards (Kepler series) support thread

Updated my old Desktop today to Monterey 12.0.1 [which is running Clover bootloader] and ran @chris1111's Geforce-Kepler-patcher (v2) without any issues! Thank you for extending the hackintosh life of my ol' faithful machine! :)

Big Sur Screen Brightness Slider and F1/F2 Keys Don't Work

I suffered from this issue when upgrading to Big Sur, and it was due to following the documentation at the time for using WhateverGreen with Clover, which suggested to use the ACPI -> Fixes -> addPNLF option, along with Devices -> Properties -> SetIntelBacklight and setIntelMaxBacklight options...

HELP! Restart doesnt work on Haswell with Opencore

I too have no restart issues when using Clover, however, since upgrading to Big Sur, the backlight/brightness slider is gone and screen brightness keys no longer work with Clover, but they do with OpenCore -- but, as described in original subject/thread, restart does NOT work with OpenCore...

    [FIX] HD4200/HD4400/HD4600/HD5600 on 10.11+

Yeah, guess I'll have to chalk it up to some issue with High Sierra and my machine; Tried everything I can think of and nothing resolves this blocky black **** on the login screen. Created an EDID directly from Windows, same issue. Tried using FixEDID with several different Displays and same...

    [FIX] HD4200/HD4400/HD4600/HD5600 on 10.11+

I have tried 15 different values, all of them (except two that broke graphics entirely) have the same blocky glitch showing up in the same place every time. Ooo... I had my hopes up with this suggestion! But sadly, same dang blotchy glitch.. Yup, this is set at 64mb and I've tried changing...

    [FIX] HD4200/HD4400/HD4600/HD5600 on 10.11+

Ahh.. My apologies, I skipped through the first have as I already had High Sierra installed and didn't think it pertained to where I was at in terms of re-configuring things (my bad!); I did eventually realize it was caused by this DisableDrivers string in the original plist: and now it makes...

    [FIX] HD4200/HD4400/HD4600/HD5600 on 10.11+

As stated, I started off using the generated plist created during the Clover installation; The HD4600 plist from your github would not detect my OSX partition properly, even after replacing the Custom and Scan entries in the plist from the one that works. I did however load the HD4600 plist...

[Guide] Disabling discrete graphics in dual-GPU laptops

Understood. My original ACPI files were named like that as that is how they were extracted from Linux. But your advice as always is helpful; I've re-done the DSDT patching from scratch, dumping them this time using Clover and ONLY applying the patches required for disabling the Nvidia...

    [FIX] HD4200/HD4400/HD4600/HD5600 on 10.11+

Hey Rehabman or anyone with some insight: Managed to finally get my Asus G711JM to update to High Sierra [10.13.4] yesterday after finally getting around to attempting it again and re-doing the DSDT to properly disable the Nvidia Optimus (GeForce GTX 860M) and got it to install successfully...

[Guide] Disabling discrete graphics in dual-GPU laptops

I will redo them then, I created the files based off another guide you did: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-patching-laptop-dsdt-ssdts.152573/ but alas don't eat and breathe hackintosh so I'm flying by the seat of my pants with a lot of this.. I'll only include the SSDTs then that I've...

[Guide] Disabling discrete graphics in dual-GPU laptops

I have followed this guide down to the letter and no matter what the NVIDIA card is still listed in system profile. Am I missing something? The only differences from your guide would be the path of the device (\_SB.PCI0.PEG0.PEGP) and also have the EC access line in there. Should the device...

    [FIX] HD4200/HD4400/HD4600/HD5600 on 10.11+

For the battery, try using the "Asus G75vw" and/or the "ASUS-N55SL" patch from RehabMan's repo (along with his ACPI Battery Driver https://bitbucket.org/RehabMan/os-x-acpi-battery-driver/downloads) (The Asus G75vw patch confirmed working for my Asus G771JM, by the way! Thanks RehabMan!)

[solved] No audio after reboot from Windows (AppleHDA w/ALC 668)

Hey, Hoping someone might be able to shed light on one final issue that is causing me a bit of grief in my Hackingtosh install. Some info first: Running 10.11.3 on an Asus G771JM, almost everything working beautifully on this system, just got HDMI Audio enabled today (after some serious...

    [FIX] HD4200/HD4400/HD4600/HD5600 on 10.11+

Attached are requested files. Note that I've been trying everything lately, and have included an older clover config and dsdt that I used before applying required laptop DSDT patches, as well as the original table dumps from linux. I believe since applying the DSDT laptop patches (and...

Again, done everything as outlined in that thread, still no HDMI audio no matter what I try. I'll keep going around and around in circles though, thanks.
