This update has fixed a "cpu panic" that kept crashing my Hackintosh and also it's fixed the issue with the sound not working after it went to sleep. I have to install the Nvidia web drivers but that has made the system much better anyway.
For anyone else with this "problem", on the menu at the top there is a "Utilities" option and you just go to the Disk utilities app and then create a partition on the drive and then set it up on that partition you create.
I have exactly the same problem, I've hopefully posted my spec's that I've got however I've got a brand new Samsung SSD 850 EVO which shows up in the BIOS but as with the other poster when it comes to selecting which drive to install it on it does not show up.
