    In case someone else has this issue, I just wanted to provide an update for the record. I've since moved on from my GA-H87M-HD3 to a GA-Z87MX-D3H and am no longer having the stagnant CPU heatsink temperature. Everything seems to be reported reasonably now.

    YES THANK YOU!!!! This FileNVRAM.dylib method worked for me! I started with a fresh install of Mavericks with the standard Unibeast/Multibeast setups. I could get ethernet to work fine, and I could get iCloud/App Store to work. This fix finally got my iMessage going. Mac OS X 10.9.1...
